Gainesville Chief of Police Jay Parrish joins us for a powerful conversation about destigmatizing the mental health needs of our police officers and community and the importance of communication during difficult times.
Jay began with the department in 2000, working as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Training Division Director, Captain of Support Services and Deputy Chief.
He is a lifelong resident of Hall County, graduating from North Hall High School before receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from North Georgia College and State University in 1999.
Jay also served six years in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve and in May, 2019, was awarded a Master’s Degree in Public Safety from Columbus State University. He also is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
