
Tracey Mallet came on and told us about her new exercise dvds that she has put out including The Booty Barre.
She mixes together ballet, kick boxing and the hippest music. Tracey shared how she dealth with migraine headaches and how that adding balance to her life helped her slow down.
Dr Fitness and her Tracey debated the merits of body weight exercises and how lunges may be the most functional exercise. Tracey just turned 40 (hard to believe) and she says she has to really challenge her body now when she works out. She doesn’t like to run because she feels compassion for her joints
She also updated us on some of the travel she has been doing including her recent trip to England where they couldn’t recognize her British accent. She is still cranking out the dvds, appearing on TV and she has a new workout certification for fitness trainers that she is rolling out all around the world.

She said only get trained at a personal training gym not a big box gym. She said that women should train with women and men should train with men. She also said that you should get a free session with your prospective trainer to see if their is a good personality fit between you two. She said to ask for the owner and make sure your trainer does power circuit training/ boot camp style training. She plans on doing more TV in the future and has recently sold her gym and spa. started out teaching Tae Bo with his dad Billy Blanks but then became a top fitness and dance teacher on his own. He started his interview by giving a quick dance lesson to us. He said the key to learning to dance is to not look at your feet. Just look at yourself in the mirror as you do a basic slide step left and right over and over until you get the rhythm. Billy can be seen on Exercise TV and on TV shows like Ellen all the time. His new exercise dvd titled Dance with Me Cardio Fit is out now. Foot problems can cause knee problems which can cause hip and back problems. She gave the quick tip to try spacers between your toes to see if that helps decrease foot pain. She says sitting too much shortens muscles and she believes that standing desks should be mandatory. She shared some more tips about the importance of stretching – tight hamstrings and calves pulls down your shoulders. Also sliding your head back like you have a double chin helps your back as well.
