In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain some basic food  safety tips so you can avoid food poisoning.  Did you know that most bathrooms are cleaner than most kitchens – how gross is that? Millions of people each year go to the doctor because of a bout of food poisoning and millions more suffer without going to the doctor. Here are some easy tips for you to protect yourself and your family. Red meat shouldn’t be brown until after you cook it. Canned foods should be dented or have bulges. Bleach is your friend – use it on cutting boards, plastic drinking containers and kitchen counters. Buy a thermometer for your refrigerator and make sure it doesn’t dip below 40 degrees F. Foods in your freezer should be rock hard – not slushy. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
