I have a bachelors degree in Telecommunications Management and more than 10 years of experience in the corporate world. She constantly improves herself by extracting wisdom from various books and constant learning with a lot of mentors. She was stuck at one point in her life and literally did not know which way to turn. Tom Szaky is founder and CEO of TerraCycle, a global leader in the collection and repurposing of complex waste streams. TerraCycle operates in 21 countries, working with some of the world’s largest brands and companies to create national platforms to recycle products and packaging that currently go to landfill or incineration. Through TerraCycle, Tom is pioneering new waste management processes to create circular solutions for materials such as cigarette butts, laboratory waste, coffee capsules, personal and oral care waste and even food packaging that otherwise have no path to be recycled. TerraCycle and Procter & Gamble produced the world’s first recyclable shampoo bottle made from plastic pulled from beaches and waterways. The first bottles went on shelves in France and Germany in 2017. Additional countries, along with new SKUs will follow in 2018. In 2017, TerraCycle acquired Air Cycle Corporation, giving TerraCycle its first foray into waste disposal mandated by federal regulations. Tom is the author of three books, “Revolution in a Bottle” (2009, Portfolio), “Outsmart Waste” (2014, Berrett-Koehler) and “Make Garbage Great” (2015, HarperCollins). A fourth is expected in Fall 2018. Tom created, produced and starred in TerraCycle’s reality show, “Human Resources” which aired on Pivot from 2014-2016. Doug Pisik is a business program management expert and executive consultant who has moved to the business of creating art. Doug has worked for notable companies such as Home Depot, IBM, General Electric, the New York Stock Exchange, First National Bank of Chicago and Carnival Corporation. During his professional career he was program manager for $100M projects, helped corporations combine disjointed IT departments and implemented changes in the way companies run their Project Management Offices. Along the way, Doug has simultaneously developed new woodworking techniques and created art pieces that have received numerous awards, museum showings and earned him the title of “Master Woodworker” from the Woodworking Guild of Georgia. He enjoys this dual-life but has recently shifted his attention full time to creating art while providing executive consulting part time. Doug’s art includes sculpture, turnings, abstract wall art and unique boxes with complex designs for which he is primarily known. Doug has a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and lives in the Atlanta area with his wife, Ginger.
