
On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on our good friend LA Justice. She is a columnist with the National
Examiner and she shared some of her best fitness tips from her book A Slimmer You. LA shared some tips that Jennifer Hudson used to lose weight recently. She started an interval cardio and fitness training workout and eliminated all fast foods. LA also suggested getting your cardio in before work by seeing if your office building has a gym where you can hit the treadmill for 30 minutes before you head upstairs to go to work. If you office does have fitness equipment and a treadmill you can go their during lunch or avoid rush hour and hit the gym after work as well. Did you know that dark chocolate has less calories than cheese. So forget about that big block of cheddar you were going to give your loved one and go with some dark chocolate. La also shared her secret to losing a quick 10 pounds – pretend your lactose intolerant – don’t eat/drink dairy products like ice cream, milk, cheese or yogurt and watch the weight melt away. Here come all those holiday parties and the key to surviving them is to eat first before you get there – do not go to a party hungry. And then when you are at the party just take a taste. Instead of a whole dessert – just take a bite. Remember your stomach is normally the size of a one liter bottle but it can stretch to the size of a gallon milk jug. Don’t test its limits. Avoid those cheese cubes and desserts – you can consume close to 1000 calories in a blink eating those foods. Remember just because food is free doesn’t mean you have eat everything – you are not a bear getting ready to hibernate for the Winter.
