Stout, Renee compressedLike so many others, Renee Stout became interested in serving the senior community through a personal experience.  She describes her grandmother as her “soul mate”.  When her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, Renee left sales job in Dallas to care for her in Rhode Island.  Born and raised in central Connecticut, Renee earned a degree in marketing from Central Connecticut University.  After spending a number of years in the manufacturing intdustry, and fresh from her Caregiving experience with her grandmother, Renee started working in sales and marketing for a senior independent living community and then later, an assisted living community.  Today Renee is the Director of Business Development for Halo Medical Service, an emergency and non-emergency transport company serving the Dallas metro area.  To find out more about Halo Medical Service, visit their website at www.haloms.com, or call them at (972) 228-3555. Shekerow, Mark compressed

On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on our good friend Nicci Micco with Eating Well magazine came on to debunk some common nutrition myths. We took a quiz in the studio but all the answers were false o we did extremely well – here are some myths abut nutrition – the article in the magazine has way more so you should check it out. Microwaving depletes nutrients – false. You crave certain foods because you are deficient in the nutrients those foods possess – false and eggs are not healthy false eggs are healthy. This month’s magazine has the apple on the cover. As usual this issue is packed with recipes and nutrition tips to keep you eating healthy delicious meals. There is a great article with recipes on how to make your own fruit bars – which turn out great if you like bars with that soft cookie texture. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Roy S Johnsion Editor-in-Chief of Men’s Fitness magazine. Roy said that action movie star Jason Statham (star of  Stallone’s new movie The Expendables – Jason also mentions who he thought was the biggest tough guy on set – fyi he was MMA champ Randy Couture) was on their cover and he shared his awesome workout. Roy also talked about the LeBron move to Miami and how it would impact his legacy. Check out this months Men’s Fitness magazine for more challenging workouts like the 5×5 workout and the Pain workout to boost gains (less rest between sets – more lifting). This issue also features some man meal recipes that are quick and easy to prepare – like Cajun Stew – and some breakfast ideas for weight loss that are sure to jump start your metabolism first thing in the morning. So because of that, she came on to share the highlights of this months Fitness magazine. She talked about an article that gave you tips on how to get some fitness in your desk job. She said switch form a chair to an exercise ball and to stand up whenever you are on the phone.
