Matthew Sander is with Mint Ventures. A graduate from UGA, Matt began his career in the insurance business, but found a talent for software sales in 1992. However, by 1994 Matt knew he’d wanted to start his own company, so he launched Natural Pet Litters and introduced the first flushable, biodegradable pet litter. With eventual distribution into 7200 outlets nationwide, Matt sold his company to a competitor and turned his attention to helping small businesses grow and expand their client base. In 2004, Matt saw the furied pace of the real estate industry and entered as an investor/appraiser and began to value and invest in properties across Atlanta. Then 2008 arrived. Recognizing early the industry had hit the wall, Matt turned his attention to an idea a friend brought his way. The result was Court Revenue Systems; a SAAS platform allowing citation recipients to pay their fines, and court mandated cost online. CRS went the extra step by adjudicating the case within the software reducing the court’s workload by 30%. The results were phenomenal, and the company entered the radar screen of a larger court software company who offered Matt a chance to roll his company into theirs and grow across the southeast. By 2012 the results were meeting management expectations and Matt turned his attention to the wellness industry. The goal was to drive physical activity into areas of commerce and WALQUE was born. WALQUE was great example of failing forward. The company launched well before the market wanted it, a pivot was implemented but still no one wanted the end results. Today, Matt spends his time helping SMBs achieve greater results with their human capital strategy as a business advisor with Insperity (NSP). Matt still works pro-bono helping entrepreneurs reach their dream of starting their own endeavor. He also works with companies preparing for the ICOR experience and is active with multiple organizations looking to build the business culture of Atlanta. His back-burner endeavor is under R&D and is collecting data at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/scanpop.
