Jake Johnson’s Garage was started in 1922 by John “Jake” Johnson Jr. in downtown Atlanta on Courtland Street. In 1934, the business was relocated to Piedmont and Monroe Drive and became the first AMOCO station in Atlanta. Jake Johnson’s Garage was one of the first foreign car repair shops in Atlanta.
