Study after study show that sitting for long periods of time is really bad for you and can lead to increase in stress levels as well as weight gain. It i so important to get up through out the day. Pace around your office when you are on the phone; walk at lunch; have walking meetings, park far away so you have to walk 5 minutes before and after work. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy ask does high fructose corn syrup really make you fatter than sugar.  For some reason people get all hot and bothered by high fructose corn syrup – some people say your body can really tell it apart form cane sugar while other people want to pin this sweet goo on the obesity epidemic. A recent Princeton study has added its opinion to the mix. They say all sweeteners are not created equal. In a rat study they found that rats who consumed high fructose corn syrup gained more weight than rats who consumed sugar. There you have it – if you are a rat their is a difference. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share some tips to help you prevent holiday weight gain. Holiday travel and parties make it a tough time to lose weight – so modify your goal just to stay at the same weight during the holidays. When you travel by car be sure to prepare and bring healthy snacks with you in a cooler. Cut up veggies or make healthy sandwiches instead of driving through fast food restaurants. If you are going to the airport try and eat a healthy meal before you get there instead of eating an unhealthy meal at the terminal. And on the flight bring your own healthy snack instead of relying on whatever the airline is handing out.
