For some people their heartburn gets  worse when they exercise – does that happen to you? For some people exercising helps their heartburn. If you are suffering from heartburn try to avoid running or jumping exercises. Also exercising on your back might make things worse as well. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share a favorite spinach orzo pasta recipe. Orzo is a kind of pasta that looks like a big single piece of rice. I like the whole wheat orzo the best.  It kind of reminds me of the roni in rice-a-roni. Boil  the orzo until almost done then pull it out of the water and put in a colander to cool. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share a favorite edamame rice pilaf recipe. Whenever you are making rice (and we recommend brown rice instead of white rice) add some veggies to eat to make it a pilaf – kind of like rice-a-roni but healthier. So for this recipe add tomatoes, onions, chicken broth, a little olive oil, and a bag of frozen unshelled edamame beans. Edamame beans are high in fiber and deliver lots of protein.  You can find edamames (both shelled and unshelled) at Trader Joes and other grocery stores that have healthy food options.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share their favorite tips on how to eat less. Did you know that some supermodels give themselves food poisoning in order to stay slim? You shouldn’t go to that extreme when you have us to help you lose weight and stay in shape. Try inhaling the smell of banana, green apple or vanilla extract when you are hungry to see if that helps you avoid binging. Eating a 1/2 grapefruit before meals also has been shown to help you eat less. Eating a plain baked potato is filling and doesn’t have a lot of calories – so add that to some meals.   And when you feel hungry drink a big glass of water – a lot of times we confuse thirst with hunger – especially when it is hot and you might be dehydrated. In a recent study of college baseball pitchers it seems that left handed pitchers suffer more injuries to their throwing arms then right handed pitchers. Their seems t be a different amount of torque on the upper arm of left handers. Deductible is what you have to pay before the insurance kicks in. Co-pay is the fixed amount you pay to see your doctor or get any medication. Co-insurance is the percentage of the cost of care that you are responsible for. Usually the higher your co-pay and deductible that you are willing to pay will lower your monthly insurance cost.
