Heat exhaustion and heat stroke coupled with dehydration are sadly pretty common when the temperature get high. If you have worked out in extreme heat and suffer from either of those things then you must cool down and hydrate yourself. Once you’ve cooled down then you really shouldn’t exercise for several weeks if you have suffered from heat stroke. Bring your exercise indoors for awhile – just to be safe. Take a couple of scoops of your favorite ice cream and toss it in a blender then add some root bear and blend away until creamy. Throw in a scoop of ice cream in a frosted mug pour in your blended stuff then top it all off with more root beer. You can make this low cal by using low calorie ice cream and diet root beer. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how to cook vegetables on the grill. These recipes are a perfect way to add some healthy eating to your meals. For corn on the cob – leave the corn in the husk brush with olive oil then wrap in tin foil. Grill for about 20 minutes on each side. Another great veggie that tastes good grilled is eggplant. Slice the eggplant then season each side and brush with a little oil the grill for around 12 minutes. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how to safely bring your kid to the gym and learn about strength training. Kids love going into a gym because their are lots of machines they can climb on that they have never seen before. So once your kid is at an age that your gym allows them to use the equipment you should begin introducing him/her to the gym. The adult should always demonstrate the exercise first and then assist and spot your child as they do the exercise. Start with very light or no weight until the child learns how to do the exercise with perfect form. Be very supportive and try and incorporate exercises that use your child’s body weight along with exercises that use weights or machines.
