While it is becoming increasingly difficult to monitor your teens eating while they are out of your home – you can control what food is inside your house. Get rid of the unhealthy snacks and bring in the fruits and vegetables. Try and make time to eat together as a family and when you do eat together prepare healthy meals. Holiday travel and parties make it a tough time to lose weight – so modify your goal just to stay at the same weight during the holidays. When you travel by car be sure to prepare and bring healthy snacks with you in a cooler. Cut up veggies or make healthy sandwiches instead of driving through fast food restaurants. If you are going to the airport try and eat a healthy meal before you get there instead of eating an unhealthy meal at the terminal. And on the flight bring your own healthy snack instead of relying on whatever the airline is handing out. They want it to be easier to read the calories, nutritional facts and serving size. they think the consumer has to do too much math in order to know exactly what is in their food.  In their perfect world their would also be a list of possible allergens. And they’d like all similar ingredients clustered together. And while their revamping the label why not add how much caffeine and whole grains are in their as well. As more and more treadmills are showing up in homes more and more kids (and adults) are getting injured on them. About 25,000 kids are injured on home exercise equipment each year. A good thing to do is give your child a safety lesson on proper treadmill use and try and be in the same room as he/she uses the treadmill in case something does happen.
