In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how the heat affects people suffering from diabetes. A lot of diabetics and pre-diabetics are sensitive to the heat. It seems that if you have type or type 2 diabetes that the mechanism that regulates your body temperature is out of whack. Diabetics have difficulty sweating enough when their body temperature rises. And when you don’t sweat enough when it is super hot you can overheat. So if you have diabetes stay cool – wear loose fitting clothes and make sure you stay hydrated.
