The topic of this week’s show was ensuring your product passes safety product standards. With the way social awareness has progressed over the years the safety regulations have become far more strictly enforced. Unlike in years past when the laws were loosely enforced, today there are very tightly controlled rules you must follow to ensure your product is safe to sell in the US market.
With Jim out Ron and Lee cover some of the basics of Patenting a product and Ron talks about the system he has developed to help determine whether or not a product/invention is capable of getting a successful patent.

Jim explains a few simple adjustments to your mind and your daily habits that will help you lose weight, sleep better, improve your sex life and energize your life in just 7 days. Here are some tips Jim talked about: Drink enough water and green tea – most people go through the day dehydrated which causes your body to go into a stress state. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share some of their favorite weight loss tips. You have to pre plan things if you are serious about losing weight. That means on the weekend cut up a bunch of veggies that you will throughout the week. It also means knowing what you are having for dinner so you know how much to eat for breakfast and lunch. Write things down – nothing will stop you from overeating if you have no idea how much you’ve already eaten that day. If you can look at your food journal and see that you’ve eaten half your calories by lunch time that means you better put the brakes on for dinner. Losing weight is math. If you don’t keep track of the calories you’re consuming you’ll never see the numbers on the scale get smaller. Get exercise in as much as you can – and make it vigorous. Strolls to the mailbox might be good when you are just starting out but after awhile you have to crank up the intensity. Don’t starve yourself – when you are famished bad things happen (like blowing your diet on one Ben and Jerry fest) – using healthy low cal snacks to take the edge off those crazy hunger pangs. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain the dangers of peanut allergies. Peanut allergies are sometimes so severe that a person’s airways can become so swollen they can’t breathe. In schools kids with peanut allergies are relegated to a peanut free table in the back of the cafeteria. There may be hope. A doctor (not Dr Fitness) has developed a potential cure for peanut allergies that involves slowly desensitizing a child to peanuts in a hospital setting. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share some of the most unhealthy foods found at your grocery store. As anyone who has kids knows the breakfast cereal aisle is the danger zone. Most breakfast cereal might as well be put in the candy aisle. Margarine is another food that came along and was supposed to be a healthier choice over butter but since margarine is loaded with trans fats you should stick to butter. Doughnuts and chips are two more items that usually don’t make up a nutritious meal. Sure they taste great and you can indulge once in awhile – I wouldn’t make them part of your everyday meals.
