Today we talked to Joyce Bone, an accomplished business woman and published author who’s recognized nationally as an expert in entrepreneurialism and real estate. She’s been featured on TV, books and magazines such as Money, Kiplinger’s and Millionaire Blueprints. She’s appeared on CNBC’s The Squawk Box and with Peggy Klaus on The Excellent Women’s Club.

As an entrepreneur and mom, she moves seamlessly from Board room to ball fields having created several successful businesses while raising her three boys with her husband, Alan. At 28, she co-founded EarthCare, an environmental company which went from a start up to NASDAQ traded enterprise (ECCO) within eighteen months ultimately achieving $125 million in annual revenues.

In 2000, desiring a family friendly business she could involve her kids in, Joyce created Emerald Real Estate, LLC managing a large portfolio in residential and commercial property. A few of her investor specialties include short sales, pre-foreclosures and rehab projects.

Joyce’s latest venture is a complimentary blend of her love for all things entrepreneurial and her sisterhood with other women. One in every ten adult women is a business owner. The Millionaire Mom membership site is designed to support mothers in the unique challenges of raising a family and a business at the same time. The site not only offers a forum for communicating advice, insights and a place to commune with other like-minded moms, it also provides concrete business advice from millionaire moms who have “been there, done that” and achieved phenomenal success in the process. Our goal is to help each woman become accomplished and profitable in her own venture-one family at a time.

Swan, LLC is Joyce’s business consulting firm. She consults with small to mid-size companies and executives. Joyce can help a company improve its marketing and sales, increase profitability, identify and solve specific problems. Having managed 350 employees herself she understands the dynamics and challenges involved in creating a synergistic environment that supports the various divisions of business. She is adept at coordinating teamwork between traditionally at odd divisions such as sales and operations and helping employees overcome their fear of change.

Joyce is a sought after speaker and will soon announce the release of her book called, “Millionaire Mom: The Art of Raising a Business and a Family at The Same Time.”

What makes Joyce Bone unique is not only her uncommon business story but her enthusiasm and the belief that each person can create the ideal life for them self. She has the ability to help others take seemingly unattainable goals and make them reachable. It is her greatest pleasure helping individuals and businesses become more efficient and successful. For more information please go to Joyce’s website www.joycebone.com

Today we talked to Joel Nunez founder of ImHonest.com. ImHONEST.com is a non-traditional lost and found service that provides identification and recovery for items of value. In addition to offering an affordable and user friendly solution for owners to proactively label and register their valuables, ImHONEST.com makes it easy for the finders of lost items to act on their honesty.

ImHONEST.com was founded in 2004 by international marketing executive Joël A.Núñez, after a frantic search for his missing wallet drove him to create a solution that rewards honesty and donates a portion of proceeds to not-for-profit organizations.

The issue of finding lost valuables is becoming growing in importance. According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the average American household now owns 26 consumer electronics products. MP3 players, digital cameras, and notebook computers – all easily lost or misplaced – are three of the top five fastest-growing product segments in the study. Unfortunately, as the number of portable electronic devices continues to grow, so too does the risk of losing them. In fact, a global survey of 900 taxi drivers by mobile devices security firm Pointsec showed that thousands of mobile phones, PDAs and laptops are forgotten in taxis every day.

Two of the most common reasons that lost items are not returned to their owners are: Inability to identify the owner of the lost item and Lack of an easy way to return the found item

The ImHONEST.com system, with its user-friendly label registration and reporting system, solves both of these issues. ImHONEST.com makes it easy for finders of lost items to return the items to their owners by providing:

Personalized labels containing a unique ID code
Choice of toll-free and online “found item” reporting
Over 4,000 drop-off locations at all of The UPS Store® locations
Pick-up service from any residence or business location
Support for international shipping of found items
A gift rewarding the finder’s honesty
For more information about Joel and his company please go to his website www.imhonest.com. And for more stories about honest people please check out his blog www.honestyblog.com

Elizabeth Gordon interviews Sara Burden – Business Broker and Vice President of Walden Business on the Chic Perspectives Show

June 17, 2008 by angishields

Today on the Chic Perspectives Show I got to talk with Sara Burden, Vice President of Walden Business, a business brokerage firm. She is a member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and received the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation through the IBBA in 2001.

Sara has taught broker classes at IBBA Conferences, frequently speaks to business groups on exit strategy topics, and has been interviewed on business radio stations.

In this Chic Perspective, Elizabeth interviews Sara about the key components of business value. The core of a business is the value that it offers the marketplace, but with that knowledge comes the question: How does a business get valued?

In this session, Sara will discuss the things that businesses need to do to prepare for sale, some common mistakes business owners make and suggestions for owners seeking to sell.

As the Vice President of Walden Business and with an extensive entrepreneurial background, Sara will share insights on business planning for the future.

http://www.waldenbus.com/

Sara will analyze how long it takes to sell a business, what kind of payment to expect and what an owner can do to maximize their business’ value.

If you have aspirations to eventually sell your business, even if that is many years in the future, it is important to learn today where to invest your time and energy as you grow the company, so you ultimately maximize the return on your investment of money, time and energy.
