BRX Pro Tip: Business Development Coaching – A BRX Benefit

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, business development, coaching, sales and marketing coaching is part of the service that we provide. And really, it’s one of the reasons that we get paid more.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:18] Yeah, it’s important for our studio partners to really understand and lean into the fact that this kind of coaching or consulting is a feature of our service. It’s not a bug in the service. This is part of why we are able to ask for and get a higher rate than other people who do some things that look similar to what we do. Because remember, we’re getting to the heart of one of the biggest pain points that business people have is the ability to build and nurture relationships with the people that are important to them. Most people don’t have a vehicle to elegantly meet new people. They have to do it in a very transactionally-minded way.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:18] Our whole platform is built around elegance, it’s built around serving, and it’s built about developing relationships with strangers very quickly and very efficiently and in a non-salesy way. So, because we deliver something that is very valuable, it’s important for our studio partners to understand that they’re not selling a commodity like a radio ad or podcasting production. We have to do that stuff, we have to do production, but that’s not what they’re getting. The value they’re getting is the ability to help our clients meet new sales prospects, to nurture existing relationships with our clients, to reactivate past prospects or clients in an elegant non-salesy way. Because we’re great at that, we get to charge more because it’s way more valuable than doing these commodity kind of services that most people out there are trying to sell.

BRX Pro Tip: Diversity and Inclusion

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, today’s topic, let’s talk a little bit about diversity and inclusion.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:09] One of the great ways that Business RadioX serves a community is that as part of our mission to be the voice of business and the market, we truly serve the entire business community. And it’s important that anybody who’s the Business RadioX studio partner really hears from all of the voices that are there. There are so many underrepresented business people out there – LGBTQ, women, black, Asian, Hispanic veterans, youth, disabled – the list goes on and on. And one of the cool things about business folks is that they like to gather, and there’s probably a Chamber of Commerce that serves each and every one of those groups in the markets that we’re in. So, it’s important to kind of find them, to give them a platform, let them come on, and tell their story.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:58] And the more diversity you have, it’s important to really tell all of these stories. It’s easy to kind of fall into the rhythm of only talking to people who look like you and sound like you. But if you really widen the net, then you’re going to get a better snapshot of what the real business community is, and you’re going to find some opportunities in areas that maybe you hadn’t considered. I read somewhere that they said that diversity is being invited to the party and inclusion is being asked to dance. So, try and dance with as many members of your community as you can. And remember, at the heart of what we do, our mission is to be the voice of business and the communities we serve, and that means all the business.

Stone Payton: [00:01:42] If everyone looked and thought like me, oh, what a boring place this planet would be.

BRX Pro Tip: High Velocity Selling Habits

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] B2B salespeople who produce better results in less time really do exercise just a handful of key disciplines that give them that slight extra edge. The five key disciplines – Structure, Personal Accountability, Empathy, Education and Direction. Structure – repeatable processes and transferable tools for key task. Personal Accountability – taking and expecting personal responsibility for corporate results. Empathy- projecting oneself into the mind of the other person, so that we genuinely understand how and why they think, feel and act. Education – establishing learning and personal development as a 24/7/365 job-critical responsibility. And Direction – clearly understanding where we’re going and why.

Stone Payton: [00:01:02] After 30 years of observing and cataloging top-performing sales behaviors, and over 25 of those years as a top-performing salesperson in the consulting profession myself, I’ve uncovered several distinct patterns, the most prevalent and consistent habits of High Velocity B2B Salespeople. The bottom line is this – we do things very differently here in the big leagues — probably very differently than what you were taught to do, and what you’ve been led to believe top performers do.

Stone Payton: [00:01:34] For example, High Velocity B2B salespeople — we don’t make cold calls; we don’t go to networking meetings; we certainly don’t do proposals; we rarely make presentations; we don’t try to match the prospects communication or behavioral style; we never duck the money question; we don’t meet objections and we don’t wait for a decision. By contrast, some things that we do – High Velocity B2B Salespeople – we choose exactly who we want to serve; we work only on scheduled calls; we tell the truth and we get the truth; we co-author solutions with our prospective clients; we make recommendations; we make decisions fast and we get decisions fast.

Stone Payton: [00:02:31] And as a result, we Help More People and Make More Money. What’s really fun about this is the more people we help, the more money we make. The more money we make, the more people we can help and the more we can help them. It’s what my business partner and Business RadioX ® Founder and CEO, Lee Kantor, calls a Virtuous Circle. But what I find particularly exciting is that every single one of these High Velocity Habits – and nine more we can share with you another time – is 100 percent under our control. We can adopt them at will, begin using them immediately and start having impact Right Here, Right Now.

Stone Payton: [00:03:16] If you’re a B2B Professional Services Provider — Consultant, Coach, CPA, Attorney, someone who provides specialized knowledge and expertise to serve other business people, I hope you’ll seriously consider exercising the five key disciplines I shared with you – Structure, Personal Accountability, Empathy, Education and Direction. And I encourage you to begin adopting some of the High Velocity Selling Habits that I mentioned.

Stone Payton: [00:03:45] If you’d like some help on this, I’d be delighted to have a conversation with you to identify at least one thing that you can start doing differently Right Here, Right Now that could really move the needle in your business. And if I believe it’s a good fit, I’ll tell you about our High Velocity Sales Simulator. It’s a series of one-on-one recorded sales simulations where you can practice these disciplines in a safe environment, receive expert feedback and advice, and dramatically improve your ability to Produce Better Results In Less Time. You can book that call with me right now at BookStonePhone.com. And please use Booking Code: SS2500. See you in the fast lane.
