BRX Pro Tip: Ask for What You Want Challenge Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, we’ve had a lot of fun and we’ve seen some results from these challenges that we’ve been issuing. Our latest is the Ask for What You Want Challenge. Explain it for our folks.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:13] Yeah, I think it’s important, it’s fun, a way to keep everything fresh, top of mind. Maybe make every week a theme this coming month and then, ask everybody you meet for one different thing. So, like maybe this week, ask everybody that you come in contact with to review the show on iTunes, review your website on Google. Another thing you can do is ask for referrals for interesting guests for every single person. You know, make this challenge, the referral for interesting guest week. Another thing you can do is share your show, link to your network challenge or create a speaking opportunity, follow you on social media, referral for your existing clients. This type of challenges where you ask everybody that comes in the room for something specific for a given week, if you do this each and every week with a different thing, you’re going to see amazing results.

BRX Pro Tip: Ask for the Business More Often Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton, Lee Kantor here with you. One of the disciplines that we try to underscore or reinforce for ourselves and everyone we’re working with, Lee, is ask for the business, ask for the business more often. The stone version of that is, you know, at some point, man, you’ve got to bite him in the neck. What’s your take on this whole discipline of asking for the business and asking for the business more often?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:25] Yeah, this is a very important component of growing your business and you really help me in this area a lot. When I started this business, everything was built upon creating enough breadcrumbs that the person would ask me, “Hey, how do I get some of that?” And you really helped me kind of be mindful and be more proactive at making sure that we’re letting people know that we have stuff they can sponsor, that their shows that they should have and it’s important for us to let them know that this exists and that they can buy from us. And a lot of times, people don’t want to go through that risk of rejection, that they are having a great time doing the show and they want to be elegant.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:05] And it’s important to be elegant, but it’s also important to ask for the business. So, you got to really kind of create a balance that works for you. And you cannot assume that people in your market know that you need more sponsors. You cannot assume if you’re sponsoring a show that your guest knows that you have a service that they can buy from you. You have to build in a call to action in your emails and your conversations. You have to let them know that you are a resource to help them achieve the outcome that they desire. So, do not be afraid to ask for the business more often.
