Mitch Taylor – Hall County Sheriff Candidate

June 8, 2020 by Beau Henderson

Mitch Taylor – Hall County Sheriff Candidate

Born in Gainesville, GA and raised in Buford GA, Mitch Taylor attended and graduated from Buford High School in 1989. After attending Middle Georgia College on a baseball scholarship, he immediately entered law enforcement with Hall County Sheriff’s office in 1991 continuing his family’s legacy as a fourth-generation public safety officer. His father was a USAF disabled veteran, and his mother is retired from her career at Mars Wrigley Company.

During his 20-plus year tenure with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, he began as a jailer before attending the Police Academy in Athens GA. After graduation, he held several positions of increasing responsibility. He transferred to the warrant division and then the patrol division. While in the patrol division, he was one of the founding members of the Domestic Violence Units. He also served on the SWAT team for 14 years. His promotions on patrol started as Corporal, Sergeant and Special Operations Sergeant. Mitch eventually worked his way up to a Watch Commander with the rank of Lieutenant in the Patrol Division.

Now, Mitch is a certified law enforcement instructor and continues to be a lifelong learner completing various leadership development courses through the John Maxwell Institute and others.

Mitch is married to the love of his life, Patti, and he has 4 step-children and 4 step-grandchildren. His grandchildren attend Hall County Public Schools and enjoy playing sports and extracurricular activities.

Kris Hall – Hall County Sheriff Candidate

June 8, 2020 by Beau Henderson

Kris Hall – Hall County Sheriff Candidate

Kris Hall wants to be your next Sheriff of Hall County, Georgia. A highly skilled, decorated, and recognized Law Enforcement Veteran, Kris has spent his entire adult life in the service of his country and community.

Having been a Hall County resident since 2002 and raising a family here, he has seen first hand the changes and challenges Hall County has faced. Hall County is a rapidly growing suburb and county infrastructure needs to be prepared. Part of that includes a well staffed, highly trained, and fully supported Sheriff’s Office.

Having retired from Forsyth County after 18 years, Kris is more than familiar with rapid growth and how an agency can manage it. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office should be setting the example for how a large agency should be managed.

Currently, the organizational structure doesn’t lend itself to smart growth and a defined future plan. This needs to be changed with a reorganzition, a streamlined, and functional blueprint to aid in smart spending of taxpayer funds and personnel in place to insure services are provided to the citizens of Hall County.

Kris would be humbled and extremely grateful to have your support and together we can continue to make Hall County, Georgia a great place to live.

Semuel Maysonet – DHI Mortgage, Branch Sales Manager

It began with a young, up-start home builder who set out for Fort Worth, Texas in 1977. Don R. Horton (D.R.) chose to champion an approach that reflected the quality and service he valued himself. One committed to treating every customer like family and creating a more satisfying home buying experience.

It’s been forty years since D.R. built his first home and founded D.R. Horton, Inc. Although his company is now the nation’s largest home builder, it’s not the size that makes it special, but the fact that at its heart still lies the same passion for serving people.

The path to owning a home can be complex and we at DHI Mortgage work together with D.R. Horton, Inc. – our parent company – as its affiliated mortgage lender and a potential one-stop option for helping people navigate the challenges of today’s homebuying process with sensitivity, care, and guidance for every person aspiring to own a home.

The times have changed; Our commitment has not.

Dan Solla – PTSD Foundation of America

Dan Solla – PTSD Foundation of America

THE PTSD FOUNDATION OF AMERICA’S MISSION

TO COMBAT POST TRAUMATIC STRESS

  1. Bring healing to our military community (Active duty, Reserves and National Guard, veterans, and their families) through pastoral counseling, and peer mentoring, both on an individual basis, and in group settings.
  2. Raise awareness of the increasing needs of the military community through public events, media outlets, social media, service organizations, and churches.
  3. Networking government agencies, service organizations, churches and private sector businesses into a united “Corps of Compassion”, to bring their combined resources together to meet the needs of the military community on a personal and individual/family level.

Our brave men and women in uniform understand duty, honor, and sacrifice. Many have returned home with both the visible scars, and the unseen wounds of war.

TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN OF THEMSELVES SO SELFLESSLY

  • PTSD Foundation of America is a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring to our combat veterans and their families with post traumatic stress. Many warriors are coming home with visible wounds; countless others are coming home with scars we cannot see, wounded souls from witnessing the horrors of war over and over again – PTSD. We feel it is our duty as Americans to help these mighty warriors and their families adjust and find their new normal.
  • It is our turn to step up with other excellent existing community organizations and help those that have fought and sacrificed so much for us. We are faith-based in our approach and have a great history of providing hope and healing to those experiencing the unseen wounds of war. We offer a safe place where no one is judged, everyone is supported, and everything a warrior says or is revealed is confidential within the group.
  • We would like the opportunity to train and/or help form groups within your community for warriors & their families to reach out to. Our teams consist of Veterans, Active and Reserve Service Members as well as civilians that have a heart for the military and their families. We have active, reserve and/or veterans from every war up to World War II that are coming to our groups. Warriors that we have worked with have learned how to heal and cope with PTSD to find their “new normal” and are now are reaching out to other warriors to let them know that there is hope in the darkness and they are NOT alone.

Please give us the opportunity to show you what we can do to provide hope for the warriors in darkness and the families who love and support them.

TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF POST TRAUMATIC STRESS

  • Establishing relationships within the faith based community and secular organizations to facilitate support systems for our military community;
  • Locating and identifying churches currently ministering to, or are willing to consider beginning ministries to our military community
  • Workshops and counseling manuals are provided for both the warrior and their families.
  • By assisting the spouses, children and other family members, we aid in the healing process of the individual with PTSD. Too often other treatment options fail to appropriately address the impact of PTSD on the family;
  • Training is available through regional workshops or through video.
  • Training should be undertaken by pastors, staff, counselors and lay-members who might interact in any counseling program;
  • Keeping the issue before the media and general public through regular press releases and email newsletters, as well as PSA’s, websites and Facebook
