Stefanie Diaz and Hogan Bassey

Hogan Bassey /Livful, Inc.

Hogan Bassey is Livful, Inc.’s, CEO and co-founder. Although Hogan brings his experience as a business analyst and management consultant to the Livful team, some would argue his most important contributions to Livful are his experience fighting malaria as a child in Nigeria and his passion for using science and technology to save lives and transform communities.

Traditional methods for repelling insects and preventing mosquito-borne diseases aren’t fully effective and are difficult to use. Mosquito netting, chemicals like DEET, household sprays, burning coils and vaccines don’t provide the full protection, easy application or pleasant experience that people need to guard against insect bites and diseases.

Livful created a plant-based, micro-encapsulation technology to deliver a repellent that insects hate and humans love to use. Families, governments and health organizations can stop wasting money and start saving lives. https://twitter.com/LivFulinc

Stefanie Diaz/Mastermind Your Launch

Stefanie Diaz has always had a keen ability for developing marketing strategies for entrepreneurs, but it’s her ability to position startups for accelerated momentum through personal branding and content marketing that has become the cornerstone to her professional success. Her background includes being a strategic adviser to CEO’s spanning startup phase to over $100 million in annual revenue. She has led strategic partnerships with global retailers and Fortune 500 companies, as well as facilitated multi-million dollar government contracts. There is something magnetic about the energy of startup founders that draws Stefanie in. They’re hungry, driven, and committed to making positive change for themselves and the greater community. As part of their initiative to improve the treatment of concussions, Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth is pleased to announce the opening of the Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center–Duluth.

With the latest state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly skilled experts from across the country, they are committed to raising the standard of care for athletes who suffer a concussion.

With the Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) program, they can diagnose concussions sooner and with greater accuracy. They offer treatment paths for neuropsychology, visual therapy and vestibular therapy to help athletes successfully recover in order to get back on the field and court safely.

In addition, they have placed certified athletic trainers in numerous high schools across Gwinnett and North Fulton. Their mission is to reduce the chance of follow-up concussions, thereby helping the student athlete’s performance both on the field and in the classroom.

At Gwinnett Medical Center, they understand the competitive nature of sports, but they always hold the athlete’s health and safety first — this is one more way they’re Transforming Healthcare.

Testing the Experts, presented by Confirmatrix Laboratory, introduces you to the top physicians, treatment centers and rehabilitation facilities, researchers, law enforcement personnel and other organizations in Atlanta to discuss their work and examine how drug testing and trends in patient care as well as drug usage plays a part in their day to day operations. Testing the Experts is co-hosted by Wes Warrington and Tracy Youngblood-McDaniel and airs each Friday at 1:00pm EST.

Shark Tank winner Tiffany Krumins and co-host Steven Julian discuss what lingo you need to know when launching a new product.

TIFFANY KRUMINS

Tiffany Krumins
, the first Shark Tank winner, is an Atlanta native and the inventor of Ava the Elephant, a child friendly dispenser that takes the fear out of taking medicine. Called a modern day Mary Poppins, Tiffany has gone from nanny to entrepreneur, and has seen her passion to help children grow into a business that is now known and loved all over the world.

Tiffany’s success story began when she was a nanny to a little boy with Down’s syndrome who was terrified of “medicine time”. To help alleviate his fear, she constructed an animal made of fabric, sponges, a store bought medicine dropper, and a recordable sound chip from a greeting card – and Ava the Elephant was born. Knowing that she would need to find a way to produce her invention, Tiffany began searching the internet and found a casting call on Craigslist that said: “Do you have the next million dollar idea but don’t have the funding to make it happen?” She immediately applied for the casting and was invited to be on the first ever episode of Shark Tank.

Her story has been a roller coaster ride as she went from being on a national TV show and receiving $50,000 to start her company, to learning just months later that she had thyroid cancer. While working from a hospital bed, she struggled through the growing pains of building a business and fighting cancer.

Tiffany’s appearance on Shark Tank and the success following continues to provide countless opportunities for her and her brand. Her story has received unparalleled exposure. Some of her more notable appearances and acknowledgements:

  • Follow-up appearances on Shark Tank on four separate occasions
  • Sharing her story and her product on the Dr. Oz Show to a national audience of millions of viewers
  • Nominated for the Top 50 Mompreneurs by Babble.com
  • Keynote speaker for Disney Social Media Mom’s
  • Her story has been featured on Forbes.com, Entrepreneur.com, TVGuide.com, YoungEntrepreneur.com, MomInventors.com and many other online and print publications

Robert Port, Page Hall, Melissa Benton, Craig Frankel

Hosts Craig Frankel and Robert Port talk with Melissa Benton with Atlanta Senior Advocates and Page Hall with Everything But The House about “What to Do When it’s Time for Mom and Dad to Move out of the House.”

Melissa Benton/Atlanta Senior Advocates

Melissa’s personal experience in the senior living industry began in 2005. She was the only family member in town, so she began caring for her grandparents in Dunwoody. Senior living options in Atlanta at that time were very limited, especially for a couple who wanted to remain living together. Their needs varied greatly as one spouse was independent and the other was struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. Over the course of 6 years, Melissa experienced first-hand the nuances, both pit falls and successes, of in-home care, independent living, memory care, assisted living, skilled care and finally hospice.

Melissa started her career working in Georgia politics in various capacities as the Chief of Staff to the current Lieutenant Governor, a Lobbyist for the Boys and Girls Club of Georgia, and a Campaign Manager for state and local races. She later moved into the legal realm as the Director of Business Development for a subsidy of the corporate and commercial real estate practices at Greenberg Traurig.
In 2012, a conversation with a friend regarding their family’s struggle with their parents not being able to live at home any longer brought to her attention that many families could benefit from what she learned when going through the same process. While she was passionate about teaching students for five years in Washington, DC, it felt like her calling to help others in crises with aging parents and serving as a voice for the senior population. She returned to Atlanta to work as a Family Advocate and became Co-Founder and President of Atlanta Senior Advocates. She dedicates her work to grandparents, Winnie and Bud, because having the honor to care for them has allowed her to help so many others.

Melissa is an Atlanta native and attends Mt. Paran Church. You can find her seeking the sun in the spring and summer and rooting for her Georgia Bulldogs in the fall.

Page Hall/Everything But The House

Page Hall leads the Atlanta sales and business development team for Everything But The House, the premier national online estate sale auction marketplace specializing in personal property liquidation. Prior to launching Everything But The House’s Atlanta operation in March of 2015, she built a diverse background in sales, retail merchandising, and home decor product design and development. Most recently, Page was a Merchandise Buyer for Atlanta’s own Ballard Designs, for whom she traveled the world seeking design inspiration and working with manufacturers. Before joining Ballard, Page worked in advertising sales for Home & Garden Television and in PR and Marketing for BD Jeffries. These experiences honed her project management skills and gave her a highly trained eye for design. This led to her opening a home decor and lifestyle brick and mortar retail store, which she successfully operated for five years. Her multi-faceted range of experiences have two common threads: a drive for unparalleled customer service and a passion for discovering unique items that make a home special. These skills and experiences give Page a genuine desire to help clients navigate life’s transitions and personal property liquidation and to bring untold treasures to the marketplace where they can find new homes to be loved for years to come.
