Courtney Odom, Co-Owner, The Popular Records

Previously known as Courtney Odom Records. The Popular Records is an independent record label focused on promotion and distribution of the projects of my husband and I. The two of us are a musical duo called Courtney and Douglas.

We play classic 70s country songs on banjos. Mine is a bass banjo and Doug’s is a classic banjo and both were made by Douglas in his shop, Bruce Berry Banjos and are some of the nicest banjos money can buy. These banjos take so much time to produce that we do not promote this business heavily. Courtney and Douglas will be performing at the Bullion Plaza on January 20th.

I’m also a part of a band called to Trippy Steps with Fredrick Baldacci aka Ysseo and we have been working on an EP for about two years that is due to release early February and is the best thing I have ever released and will be the 1st release under the title The Poplular Records.

We would like to create a structure that would support local musicians by services in the future but at this time, we are focused on our own projects.
