PMO Flashmob is a learning and networking community group in the UK which for the last 7 years has been bringing PMO practitioners together to chat, debate, grow friendships and generally get around the bars of Londontown.
It’s all about tackling the challenges together – exchanging ideas and gripes. It’s also spawned two further companies too – The PMO Conference, an annual event in London each June – and PMO Learning, a formal training company.

Lindsay Scott is passionate about PMO. Having worked as a PMO Manager back in the late nineties, she went onto the form, Arras People, a project management recruitment specialist which also focused on PMO recruitment. She’s always loved getting people together in this field and formed part of the PMOSIG at the Association for Project Management (APM) in the UK. Finding the confines of an association a little too claustrophobic, PMO Flashmob was created to break out and change the rules.
For the past seven years, she’s created the PMO Conference, which welcomes 500 PMO practitioners from around the globe to London each summer – carry on PMO Flashmobbing and co-founded PMO Learning – which focuses on formal PMO training and certifications for PMO practitioners.
She’s also PMI’s regular career columnist in the membership magazine – PM Network – and co-editor of the Handbook of People in Project Management.

ABOUT PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE HOURS SERIES
Project Management Office Hours is intended to provide Project Management professionals a place to drop in and discuss Success Stories, Best Practices, and Lessons Learned. Project Management Consultant Joy Gumz has shared with us, “Operations keep the lights on, strategy provides the light at the end of the tunnel, but project management is the train engine that moves the organization forward.”
Each of us has a unique story to tell, but collectively we share a message that organizations who embrace Project Management Best Practices perform better than those which don’t. Organizations which align Projects to Strategy perform better. Organizations with Engage Executive Sponsors deliver better results. Organizations which measure Project Management performance outperform those which don’t.
During our Project Management Office Hours, we hear directly from Industry leaders how to make an impact in our profession. How we, collectively, will Advance Project Management Best Practices, One Listener at a time!
