We believe in the dream of business ownership and that Local Businesses need all the help they can get to drive the sustainable foot traffic they need to maintain and grow their businesses. Over the past decades, marketing technology firms and software companies have jumped in with promises of creating new visitors through better emails, pay-per-click advertising, online reviews and ratings, rewards programs, and so on. However, these tools all just focus on creating activity at the middle steps of the marketing and sales process.

For local merchants — at least those with the time and expertise — this often means an expense that leads to activity, not real results. More recently, a group of dot-com companies, like Groupon, jumped in promising groups of paying customers. However, many merchants found that these deals led to swarms of unprofitable visitors that could quickly bleed a business dry.

Local businesses don’t need more promises about expensive marketing tools that may lead to more customers. They need sustainable, profitable customer foot traffic that helps them build and expand their business. They don’t want to pay for activity — they want to invest in results. They need Hownd!

The Hownd automated marketing platform helps local businesses drive the sustainable foot traffic they need to grow. A combination of web, email and mobile technologies, Hownd generates new and repeat guests, additional birthday and event bookings, and thousands in additional profitable revenue every month for an local business. Best of all, a business can get started in just five minutes with a zero-risk plan that means they only pay when new visitors walk through their door. It’s what we call Effortless Foot Traffic™ and it will be available in October!

Brandon-Willey-with-Hownd-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXBrandon Willey has more than 15 years of executive leadership experience in sales, marketing, product, and business operations. Prior to his role as Founder and CEO of FetchRev (soon to be Hownd), an effortless foot traffic™ software platform for local businesses, he established and grew scalable sales, marketing, customer success and fulfillment teams at Reputation.com, Recruiting.com, FrontSpin and Hopscratch.

Now, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, Brandon and the FetchRev team builds software for local merchants that automatically engages new and past customers, books more events and parties, grows their revenue, and drives return foot traffic and referrals. Brandon has broad knowledge of the local digital advertising ecosystem with extensive experience in inbound and outbound revenue growth, email and search marketing, social media, retargeting, geotargeting, segmentation, automation, machine learning and more.

Brandon is an Arizona native, and ASU alum, is past-president of the board of directors for the Tempe Community Council, and is co-founder of StartupScalers, a sales consulting and training organization, along with several other innovative technology and media startups.

Mike-Carrillo-with Hownd-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXMike Carrillo has built his career starting and scaling businesses. As Chief Evangelist at FetchRev (soon to be Hownd), Mike works with local businesses every day to help them effectively grow and monetize their customer database.

With a deep understanding of marketing, customer experience, and business operations, Mike knows what it takes to win in a competitive marketplace.

From the very beginning, Vantage West Credit Union existed to suit the needs of the community. In 1955, we started in a one-room barrack at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base with the mission to help Tucson’s airmen and their families. Back then, the humble DMAFB Federal Credit Union, as we were then known, served a little under 600 Members and had less than $60,000 in assets. By the end of the 1960s, we had already grown to nearly 14 thousand Members, sowing the seeds for the rapid growth we would see in the decades to come.

Vantage West got its current name in August of 2006, when the Board of Directors gained regulatory approval to convert from a federal to a state charter. The new name better represented the diversity of our Members and paved the way for continued expansion across the state of Arizona.

In 2010 and again in 2014, Vantage West expanded by merging with First Edition Community Credit Union and the former Tombstone Federal Credit Union. Despite explosive growth, Vantage West has retained its core mission of investing in our surrounding communities. Our Members are loyal to us because we’re loyal to them. As we continue to thrive, we are able to better serve our Members and communities so they may thrive too.

Ray-Ragan-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXRay K. Ragan, MAd (PM), PMP is the Assistant Vice President of Project Management for the Tucson-based Vantage West Credit Union. Prior to joining the Credit Union movement, Ray worked in defense and FinTech, bringing machine learning, intelligence systems, along with speech and predictive analytics to enterprise scale.

Ray holds a Master’s degree in Administration from Northern Arizona University with an emphasis in Project Management and a Certificate in Strategic Decision and Risk from Stanford University. He is a credentialed Project Management Profession (PMP) and has several Agile Project Management certifications.

Ray is a highly decorated U.S. Army Reserve officer, serving combat tours in Iraq and the Philippines and multiple mobilizations around the world.

Camille and Anthony Bineyard with Love Thy Neighbor

Love Thy Neighbor, Inc. (aka LTNInc) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to making a difference in the community. In 3 simple phrases: To Promote! To Instill! To Build! Using these three pillars, LTNInc enhances quality of life and self-worth in youth and adults through unique programs and fun events.

They serve families and individuals from all walks of life, with a focus on at-risk individuals and those who feel they are without a voice. They donate necessary resources, volunteer in the community, build enrichment programs, and host empowerment events to open a new world of fun possibilities and experiences geared towards leadership, confidence, creativity, discipline, and other essential qualities to be successful in life. IABM-IAHMLogo

Their year-round I Am Beautifully Made / I Am Handsomely Made programs benefit all youth ages 3 and up, from all backgrounds, who normally would not have the chance to attend programs like theirs.

Their current focus is their surrounding areas, but they have a desire to expand their reach to cover all of Phoenix West Valley, Metro Area, and East Valley, so they partner with various community outreach programs to offer the program, not just to those interested, but also those that don’t even know programs like this exist; such as those in the foster system or halfway houses.

In addition to being featured in the AZ Informant and the Glendale LIVING Magazine, they have also garnered media attention with features on an NBC Radio Talk Show with Ed Smith. They also work closely with Jasmine Coleman, Mrs. Arizona International, to help the successful development of girls and women by encouraging strong family relationships, personal excellence, and community service.

They have recently partnered with Alexis from My Heart 4 Art, who helps youth make their dreams come to life on paper through creating vision boards.

Camille-Bineyard-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXCamille Bineyard, the President and CEO of the organization, has been a public and private school educator for over 15 years.

She is a devoted wife, mother of 7, foster parent, adoptive parent, mentor/leader in the foster care community, and she is a strong advocate for youth advancement.

She has also been pivotal in the creation and success of Yavapai Preschool, owned and operated by the husband-wife team, Reginald and Desiree Gaines, her twin sister.

Anthony-Bineyard-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXAnthony Bineyard, the Treasurer and CFO/CIO of the organization, has over 10 years experience working in technology and marketing. He is a devoted husband (to Camille) and also a father of 7, foster parent, and adoptive parent.

In addition to owning Red Glove Computer & Web Services, LLC., he is also the author of two books: How To Speak Venusian and Legacy: The Gift of Family. There are also two children’s books in the works.

All officers volunteer their time and resources to other local organizations, and get their kids involved in the process, so they can experience what it feels like to give back.

They have built long-lasting partnerships with radio hosts, high schools, politicians, community centers, chambers of commerce and more, in the hopes of spreading their vision and improving our youth’s quality of life, one child at a time.

Paradigm Shift Financial Co-Founders Thomas Blottenberger and Shauna Price

The founders of Paradigm Shift Financial (PSF) used to work at your traditional financial firm. You know the kind: product-oriented, quota-driven, and commission-based where those with the biggest sales were touted as the best “advisors”.

They did the best they could within that system to bring value and guidance to clients independent of the commission check, all the while being reminded they weren’t driving sales hard enough. Paradigm-Shift-Financial

Finally, after feeling like they were hitting their heads against a wall, a light bulb went off.

Why work in, and fight against, an environment which seemed to put sales first and client dreams second? Why not start their own firm; bringing forth education and coaching to clients, free from the need to push products?

This “lightbulb” moment was their paradigm shift. A powerful definition of the term paradigm shift is, “an important change that happens when the usual way of thinking about or doing something is replaced by a new way”. And thus, in 2017 Paradigm Shift Financial, LLC. was born.

Since inception, the firm has been committed to and guided by its Core Values to ensure their clients achieve their dreams. Through powerful coaching, exceptional service, and engaging experiences, clients are led to discover a greater purpose for their wealth. PSF creates an environment in which all members are given the opportunity to share and participate, which engenders a community support structure that has a far-reaching impact.

Thomas-Blottenberger-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXThomas Blottenberger spent 8 years with a big financial firm when he discovered his commitment to bring forth the most powerful strategies for his clients was not supported.

In 2017 he co-founded Paradigm Shift Financial with Shauna Price so clients could discover the truth about investment.

Shauna-Price-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXAfter 7 years in the traditional financial industry, Shauna realized that the model was flawed, and clients were at risk. She joined forces with Thomas to alter peoples experience of money and to empower them to realize their dreams.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS

It’s Mike Jones‘ mission to see brands grow and succeed – to reach their full potential. He believes every brand, like every person, has DNA that’s remarkable, but not every brand knows how to act like it (and communicate it to the world). It’s not about what’s trendy, whatever consumers are demanding, or whatever will turn the fastest profit. It’s about the long game – building real relationships with your customers and your community.

BEST OF HEALTH CertiStar Founder Shandee Chernow

As a result of discovering her own personal severe food allergies in her late 20s, Phoenix-based, Shandee Chernow, founded CertiStar in 2017 to help the millions of people around the world who suffer from food allergies to have a more safe and easier dining experience.

CertiStar™, Inc. is on a mission to protect and improve the safety and dining experiences of men, women or children vulnerable to food allergies and intolerances. Our patent-pending MenuStar™ restaurant software allows you to identify food allergy threats for your customers with just one 3-second search. All your recipes and food allergy information in one place.

Our MenuStar™ restaurant software allows you to create and upload recipes, educate and empower your staff and store your allergen and nutritional information in one, easy to use platform. That’s menu innovation that saves lives.

Shandee-Chernow-on-Phoenix-Business-RadioXShandee Chernow studied Computer Science and Mathematics at Vanderbilt University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. After joining MicroStrategy, she was instrumental in the design of several key products in the business intelligence product line.

She worked at MicroStrategy in sales both on the technical and account management sides, being awarded President’s Club status eight consecutive years. Continuing her career in data, business intelligence and data science, she went on to assist Hortonworks and Tableau in building out their Desert region territories before founding CertiStar™.

A mom of two boys, Shandee suffers from food allergies and saw a problem in the marketplace that wasn’t being solved well or being addressed properly by the industry. She created CertiStar™, a user-friendly technology platform that provides enjoyable dining out experiences for men, women and children vulnerable to food allergens.

Shandee’s passion, besides keeping food allergy sufferers’ safe in restaurants and in schools (for now), is flexing her creativity further through her love of painting. Her work is represented in several art galleries throughout her current hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, where Shandee runs CertiStar™.

WHY BEST OF HEALTH?

I am a Physician Assistant who has been caring for patients for over 20 years and Family Practice (cradle to grave) is my specialty.

Following the footsteps of three generations of family practice physicians (my father, grandfather and great grandfather) this was a natural and genetic calling that I do not regret.

Given this, I have a unique perspective and it’s time to share that perspective through Ask the PA. As a health care provider, teacher, business owner, patient, and advocate for my family and friends throughout the years, it has been painfully apparent there are disconnects within the current state of health care in the US and throughout the world. It can be confusing and frankly very scary.

It is my goal though this series, Best of Health, to bring people together that are passionate about their roles in the business of health care… and yes, whether or not you want to hear that it’s a business, it is — and that’s the fact. I will introduce to you great, dedicated practitioners and people with a passion for getting the word out about their personal journeys and causes. I will provide information about navigating through a confusing system, asking the right questions and share ways for saving money and time along the way.

It’s time to create change by partnering, empowering, and focusing on the patient, their families and their providers of care. It’s time for you to take the driver’s seat rather than leave your health care solely in the hands of entities such as insurance companies and the pharmaceutical industry.

Stay tuned. Here’s to your Best of Health.
