Partnership Gwinnett hosted the 2020 Movers & Makers Manufacturing & Supply Chain Awards on March 5, 2020 at the Infinite Energy Forum. The Keynote Speaker was Robert Packett, the Southeastern Regional Director of Operations with Amazon.
Amazon is building it’s first robotics fulfillment center in Georgia, scheduled to open in late 2020. The $238 million facility straddles the Gwinnett-DeKalb County lines and spans the length of 12 football fields. Once the facility is fully operational, more than 1,000 employees will work alongside robots packing and shipping products. Additionally, workers will be hired for finance, information technology and other jobs.
Robert spoke about the new facility and more in this exclusive interview with Business RadioX.
