BRX Pro Tip: Being Resilient
Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, there are nice to haves and must haves in virtually any business, I would think, certainly in ours. But being resilient, I mean, that’s a must have. Yeah?
Lee Kantor: [00:00:14] Yeah. I think that resilience is a must have skill in today’s kind of business environment. It probably was in every business environment, but especially today. And especially if you have kids, I think that you’re doing them a disservice if you’re not teaching them how to become more resilient. Because it’s impossible to anticipate every bad outcome, so you have to learn how to manage this kind of disappointment and failure and just change in general. And the world is changing faster and faster. So, all of that chaos and all of those bad outcomes are going to be coming faster and faster.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:52] So, you got to figure out a way to navigate through that and absorb some of those blows and just keep grinding. Because, you know, sometimes things go your way and sometimes they won’t. And if you’re resilient, you’re able to handle that when they come. And then, you’re able to deal with that, and you can deal with it with a level of optimism. And if you have optimism and resilience, then you have a superpower that should get you through just about anything.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:19] Please teach your kids how to be resilient. Please teach your employees how to be resilient. That way they’ll feel more comfortable taking the risk that they have to take and to trying things that might be a little uncomfortable. And then, they’ll know that they can survive even the worst case scenario of what occurs. And then, they’ll just keep going boldly forward. Too many people quit too soon at the first sense of trouble or the first hurdle that’s in front of them. So, being resilient, that’s a must have skill in today’s world.
