BRX Pro Tip: Set Higher Standards
Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, let’s talk a little bit about this idea of setting higher standards.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:10] Yeah, I think it’s important for everybody, as entrepreneurs and individual business owners, and even folks just in the community, maybe have a regular job, that you should be a lifelong learner. And when you’re a lifelong learner, that should raise your standards of what you think good is. And the higher you can raise the standards for yourself, it’s that much easier to accept higher standards from your team.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:34] Aiming higher is the key to self-improvement, and that’s the catalyst for positive change in the organization. I think too many people just settle for mediocre results when they can be achieving way more if they just aimed a little higher and pushed a little harder. So, I think it’s really imperative for you, as a leader, to hold yourself to a higher standard, and keep learning, and keep pushing yourself.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:02] And once you do that, you’re now role modeling that behavior for your team, and then be less tolerant of mediocre performers, and just try to get as many A players and B players around you as possible, so your organization can continue to thrive.
