BRX Pro Tip: Marketing Funnel 101
Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Today’s topic, Lee, marketing funnel 101.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:10] Yeah. A lot of people have heard of the term marketing or sales funnel, and I thought it would be important to really explain it to folks in a simple way so they understand what those terms mean and how they can kind of use those principles in order to help them grow their business.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:28] So, basically, in a marketing funnel, you want to move a prospect to first knowing you exist. There has to be some level of awareness. Then, there has to be a way to interact with them or create some level of engagement, hopefully, in a positive manner. And then, ultimately, you want to try to sell them something so you need them to take some sort of a buying action. So, that’s at the heart of every funnel is, you know, an awareness, some sort of engagement, and then an action at the end.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:57] So then, when you know this, then you have to build systems around each of those outcomes. So, you have to have a way to make people aware of what you’re doing. And so, some of the ways that you would do that, some people run ads to make people aware. In our case, we do a lot of shows and share the content on social media. That’s how we make people aware of what we do. Or we introduce ourselves to prospective guests so they know that they can come on. So, we’re doing that as to create some awareness.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:26] And once we have contact with that person, they know who we are in some way, we try to create engagement or an interaction with them. In our case, sometimes they actually come on a show so they can feel and see what a show is like and they can experience that firsthand. And then, at the end, we want them to take some buying action. And then, what we do at the bottom of the funnel in our case is go to that guest and explain to them, “Hey, you mentioned that this is a challenge for you. We have a solution that can help you overcome that challenge,” and then we try to sell them something.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:57] So, that’s kind of the basics of our marketing funnel. But the basics for every marketing funnel is some level of awareness, some level of engagement, and then some call to action to get someone to do something or buy something. So, remember that when you are building out your sales funnel, try creative ways in order to engage people at each stage of the funnel.
