BRX Pro Tip: Your Technology Works for You, Not the Other Way Around
Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, something that we should all keep in mind, your technology works for you, not the other way around.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:14] Yeah. I think this is something that we don’t really appreciate, how much time your devices take away from your day. You have to have the self-discipline to ignore some of these notifications, the emails, the text, all the dinging that goes on and the reminders and all the stuff. You have to have your technology work for you. So, my recommendation is turn off notifications, turn off the phone, close all your tabs except the ones you’re working on. Take back control of your devices and you’ll find that you have a lot more time to do the work that really matters.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:53] It’s so easy to lose focus and to lose the flow if you don’t do this kind of turning off all these notifications. You’re going to get a lot more done if you just block off time in your calendar to say, “Okay. I’m going to dedicate this for deep thinking, deep work, that I’m not going to look at anything else. Or I’m not going to do emails every time a new email comes in. I’m only going to do emails in the morning or the afternoon.” You control your devices, so get them working for you instead of vice versa. It can’t be that your device is kind of dictating your day. You should be dictating your day and your device should be working for you.
