LIVE REMOTE: “Tee It Up To End Domestic Violence” Golf Tournament

June 14, 2021 by Garrett Ervin

Partnership Against Domestic Violence hosted it’s 1st Annual “Tee It Up To End Domestic Violence” Golf Tournament on June 11, 2021 at Bear’s Best Atlanta.

Since 1977, PADV has worked passionately and tirelessly to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors. The charity golf outing featured an 18-hole scramble and a beginner’s clinic. This special day allowed the community to take a visible stance against abuse and help end the crime of intimate partner violence. Golfers of every skill level competed for prizes and bragging rights.

Gwinnett Business RadioX dedicated a special Community Spotlight podcast promoting the event a month earlier, and then was on-site at Bear’s Best Atlanta on the day of the tournament broadcasting live remotes during the afternoon to interview organizers, sponsors and golfers. The live broadcasts were proudly presented by Buffington Burns Electric.

Advice

Choose to ask for, listen to, and apply advice. There are no guarantees, no risk-free environments or investments, and no certain futures. Learn from those who are where you want to be in life, through one-on-one time, group learning, or reading what those people have written.

Attitude

Choose an attitude of gratefulness. Make a list of what you are grateful for. Add to it every day. Your sight allows you to see those you love, and to enjoy the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. Your hearing allows you to hear the joy in children singing, and the majesty of Beethoven’s 9th.

Example

Choose to set an example. Never underestimate the power and influence of the decisions you make today on those around you, and on future generations.

Hope

Choose always to keep hope alive. Be mindful of where you place your hope. C.S. Lewis said, “if we have longings which cannot be satisfied in this world, it is obvious we were made for another world”. Yes.

Perseverance

Choose to carry on. It takes no talent to quit, criticize, condemn, or complain. My friend Bill died on August 30th, 2020. He was a Marine in Vietnam and trained as an engineer. By profession he was an attorney. Like me, he was a preacher’s kid, which is not something I necessarily recommend. His motto? Suit up, stand up, show up, and never, never, never quit.

Randy Brunson/Centurion Advisory Group

Randy Brunson is the founding shareholder of Centurion Advisory Group. Randy has invested most of his forty-year career in financial services. He spent several years on the institutional side and had the opportunity to start a successful financial planning firm in 1991. Centurion Advisory Group serves individual and corporate clients, both in Georgia and throughout the country, offering personal and business financial planning, retirement plan design and management, and investment management services.

Randy studied engineering and marketing at UT Chattanooga. Randy currently holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and CKA designation and makes it a priority to stay on top of his knowledge in the financial industry through continuing professional educational opportunities and reading. In addition, Randy has completed studies in qualified plan design, estate planning and business transition planning and he enjoys speaking and writing regularly on these topics.

Sandy LeRoux/Centurion Advisory Group

Sandy LeRoux, has been with Centurion Advisory Group since early 2015. She serves as co-advisor and team lead and has primary responsibility for a number of client relationships. Sandy is a skilled and dedicated Financial Planner with more than 20 years’ experience in the executive level of business and finance. For 15 years, she served as Controller and Human Resources Administrator for LeRoux Entertainment, a multimillion-dollar company with over 250 employees in six states.

Following her desire to serve the broader community, Sandy served as the Executive Assistant to the lead pastor of The Bridge Church. During her time there, she especially enjoyed developing strategic pathways and action plans based on the priorities, vision, and initiatives of the pastor and congregation. Sandy also worked at the executive level of First Covenant Bank in Roswell, GA. Her talents in the financial and faith-based organizations are what led her to Centurion Advisory Group.

Sandy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a Minor in Accounting from UGA and her MBA in Corporate Finance from Georgia State University. Currently, Sandy is working towards her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

 Stewardship

Choose to be a steward of your time, talent, treasure, and relationships. Choose to see your life as an opportunity to share what you have been given with others, in a way that improves the quality of their lives. A mindset of stewardship helps release us from the tyranny of ownership.

Trust

Choose to build trust. My friend Dave says trust is built through character, competence, and caring. Character is who we are, competence is what we know, caring is what we do.

Goals

Choose to set goals. Keep the list short. No more than three to five business goals, no more than three to five personal goals. More than that, nothing is a priority because everything is.

Growth

Choose personal growth. While goals are important, the process of personal growth is critical. It is the journey of becoming who we were designed to be by our Creator, in order to maximize our impact during our time here.

Responsibility

Choose to take complete responsibility for yourself and all that comes under your domain. And choose to wear the mantle of responsibility with grace and dignity.

Grace

Choose to extend grace to yourself as well as to others. We are all on a journey. That word of kindness or encouragement could make all the difference.

Rest

Choose to rest. As finite, we must have rest. Our bodies weren’t designed to go non-stop.

Learn

Choose to be a lifetime student. Pick a language you want to learn, a culture you want to study, an author whose books you want to read.

Faithfulness

Choose to be faithful to those to whom we have committed, and to our calling and purpose. The primary mandate is not to success, or glory, or accomplishment. The primary mandate is faithfulness.

Sarah Senior, Max Wolk and Nancy Herrington

Maxwell Wolk/Raymond James

When Bob James founded Raymond James, he did so based on a belief that clients deserved more than help with investment decisions. They needed advice that considered their entire financial picture.

Today, that client-focused approach has extended to serve client accounts through 8,200 financial advisors in the United States, Canada and overseas. Further, the company has expanded through the years to serve corporations, institutions and municipalities through significant capital markets, banking and asset management services.

Their deliberate nature and thoughtful approach to financial planning has led to a history of strength and steady, stable growth. The company’s conservative approach began in 1962 when Robert James put the word “Investments” after his name. Since then, Raymond James advisors have been crafting meticulously tailored, holistic financial plans to help ensure their clients can retire and realize their individual financial goals.

Nancy Herrington & Sarah Senior/Insperity

Insperity is a full-service HR Company that helps clients strengthen and streamline their business. Their proven approach helps better manage costs and minimize risk, helping businesses get ready-to-use HR infrastructure that they need to be more efficient and profitable, while showing them how to maximize their performance and productivity.
