Run the Reagan is an annual community event featuring a Half-Marathon, 5K and 10K road race down Ronald Reagan Parkway in Gwinnett County. In addition, the event features a 1K fun run. All proceeds, other than those necessary to produce the event, are donated to charitable organizations. The 2020 designated recipients were The Brookwood Schools Foundation, The Lilburn Cooperative Ministry, and The Southeast Gwinnett Coopertative Ministry.

The 26th Annual Run the Reagan was held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 and Business RadioX was broadcasting live from the event, interviewing runners, race officials, sponsors, vendors and school officials. The broadcast was hosted by Mike Sammond of Gwinnett Business RadioX and Ryan Sauers of Our Town Gwinnett Magazine. Below are some of the excerpts from the day’s events.

Segment 1 (24:56): Introduction to Run the Reagan and interviews with Trent Lind (CEO of Eastside Medical Center), Kristin Moore (Burn Boot Camp of Snellville) and Ron Weber (Chairman for Run the Reagan, Inc.).

Segment 2 (15:09): Interviews with Bo Ford (Principal of Brookwood HS) and Shane Orr (Principal of Central Gwinnett HS).

Segment 3 (5:59): Interview with Francine Oglesby (Right at Home In-Home Care).

Segment 4 (38:43): Interviews with Danny Klinect (Soccer Coach at Parkview HS), Charles Norton (Parkview Cluster Foundation), Sharon Foster (Lilburn Co-Op), Stacy Garguilo (School of Rock Snellville), Dave Emanuel (Mayor Pro Tem of Snellville), and Tim Simmons (Snellville Police Alumni Association).

It was a special treat for me when my old friend, Dave Hudson dropped by Booth 61 on May 9th during the 2015 Techbridge Digital Ball. I have known Dave and his equally talented wife, Monika for many years having first met them when I spoke to the SOB’s (Students Of Benn Konsynski) at the Emory University Goizueta Business School.

Dave shared a lot of exciting news about Amtrak including the major expansion of their presence in Atlanta. Dave and Monika will be relocating back to Atlanta from DC over the next few months.
