On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on our good friend the legendary fitness trainer Denise Austin. Denise has a new exercise dvd that you must add to your collection. Denise Austin: Best Bun & Leg Shapers. Look for some BootCamp dvds from Denise soon that include kettle bell style exercises. Denise said that exercise is the best preventative medicine. And that you are the architect for your own body. Denise shared some great tips for Thanksgiving Day – she said to laugh a lot, cook some healthy choices and go for a family walk later in the day. She also talked about how she survived Halloween and how she sometimes embarrasses her kids by exercising during commercials while they watch TV together. Denise also talked about her love of exercise balls, dumbbells and pedometers.  She said the best way out of a holiday funk is to start moving – 10-12 minutes of exercise in the morning will jumpstart your day. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Violet Zaki, veteran exercise dvd star came on to tell us all about her new Weight Loss Cardio Sculpt and Weight Loss Cardio Kick dvds she has out through Acacia. Violet is unique in that her training is in fitness but also in karate. She was been kicking butt in Australia before she came to the US. When she started teaching classes here she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most sought after instructors. Now she travels as a guest instructor all over the world. Before the guests arrived we discussed how the funniest new TV show ABC’s Modern Family (on Wednesdays at 9pm) spoofed the Fat Guy’s pole walking regimen. First you have to check out this show because it is hilarious. But second and most importantly when you see the guy in the Pole Walking get up – that is exactly how the Fat Guy looks when he pole walks. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Thomas Madden, inventor of the Knife and Fork Lift. These barbell shaped pieces of silverware turn eating into exercise. While all our listeners know Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy have been talking about weighted silverware since we started the show, Thomas actually went out and invented it. And don’t forget walking in the pool. You can’t pass a senior community without a handful of  ladies walking back and forth in the pool either reading a book or chatting with their friends. Working out at home with an exercise dvd is another great activity for seniors. Also using resistance bands to do strength training is very beneficial.
