On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Liz Weiss, author of No Whine with Dinner: 150 healthy Kid-Tested Recipes from the Meal Makeover Moms. Relax this book has recipes for foods your kid will really eat like mac and cheese, tacos, cupcakes and pizza. Liz says that most families think preparing healthy meals takes a lot of time; is too expensive and the kids complain anyway – so why bother. So she decided to create kid friendly nutritious meals that can be prepared quickly. Liz came on to share some of her best tips to get your kids to eat healthier. A great tip that she shared was to get your kids involved – let them pick a recipe out of the book and make it for the family – when kids have ownership they complain less and are excited and proud of their accomplishment. Another tip was to not have any chunks in your sauces – kids don’t like lumps – especially picky eaters. This registered dietitian had lots of do’s and don’ts when it came to feeding your family. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Missi Wolf founder of the hot new fitness center concept Blast900 The Ultimate Workout. This workout is for all fitness levels – whether you’re a runner, jogger or walker you can lose weight at this gym. It’s not really a gym in the conventional sense it is a workout center that uses interval training techniques and fast paced music to get you moving. A class can have people of all fitness levels working out together – half the class are  using high tech cardio equipment while the other half  are doing other exercises. Each are using intervals to burn lots of calories then after a few minutes they switch up – the cardio people start exercising and the exercisers start doing cardio. After struggling to lose over 100 pounds Missi decided to design a program that combines cardio, strength training, resistance training, abdominal work and stretching all in one one hour workout. This guy has been the strength and conditioning coach for everyone from the Florida Gators football team to the St Louis Police Department. Here are some of the mistakes that Tom sees…1-Not making the time to workout 2-not making exercise a priority 3- not wrking hard enough 4- not being progressive over time. Time also gave his review of the P90X workout. Today, Rob has lost almost 300 pounds and shares his weight loss tips on the show. He went from being a totally sedentary cab driver to an athlete who has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.
