  1. Grapefruit – these acidic bad boys can erode the enamel from your teeth
  2. Whole grain breads – feed the bacteria that is in your mouth
  3. Popcorn – dentists love replacing fillings that have been damaged by stray popcorn kernels

  1. Make peace with the craving – accept that you have cravings and give in to them (within reason)
  2. For salt cravings see if a pickle makes it go away
  3. For sweet cravings see if some fruit helps
  4. Have a healthy substitute around the house instead of a high calorie option
  5. Distract yourself – most craving pass in 15-20 minutes
  6. Brush your teeth – no one likes to eat anything after brushing your teeth
  7. Don’t keep the junk food in the house – make it hard to get to

On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Heather Harvey creator of the Measure Up Bowl. Heather shared her story about how she created this innovative weight loss product. She had gained some weight during her pregnancy that she was having trouble getting rid of. So a nutrition coach suggested she should measure and weight the foods that she ate. So Heather figured out a clever way to measure foods you put into bowls. And by the way, she lost about 80 pounds. The Measure Up bowl is one of those product that once you see it you think, why didn’t I think of that – it is so obvious. The Measure up Bowl has subtle lines telling you how much you are putting into each bowl in quarter and half cup increments. You will not find a better product to control your portion sizes. Especially with cereal. Heather did a great job with the design and quality. These bowls are dishwasher and microwave safe.
