Teriyaki sauce is a great marinade for salmon. Brush some teriyaki sauce generously over the salmon then let it sit in the sauce for at least 15 minutes then grill as usual. Keep the skin on the salmon when you grill to keep the fish more tender and to prevent it from drying out. A great side with this salmon is cucumber salad. Slice up some cucumbers and marinate them with a nice balasamic vinegar dressing.

How about marinating your meat before grilling in order to grill a little safer this summer. Marinating meat cuts about 60% of the dangerous HCA which is produced when grilling at high temperatures. Use a red wine based marinade rather than one that has high fructose. Turn the meat often to prevent burning. And cook with the skin on the meat but remove it before you eat your meal. And grill more vegetables – so you don’t have to worry about HCA at all. We know you’re going to fire up the grill this summer so just be a little safer okay – we can’t afford to lose any listeners.

Summer’s here so let the grilling begin. Here is a refreshing lemon chicken recipe that is great for the barbeque. Mix up some lemon juice with honey, olive oil and some spices. Rub some of that dressing on your 4 6 oz chicken breasts. Grill them up. Then you can make a cole slaw with some cabbage and even use the remaining dressing on that as well.

This grilled chicken skewer recipe affirms the belief that everything tastes better on a skewer. Grab some chicken chunk it up. Also chunk up some zucchini, onion, red pepper and some naval oranges. Remember that before you throw skewers on the grill to soak them in water for a long time so they don’t burn up. Oil up your griull and cook the skewers for a few minutes on each side until they are done. Serve over a brown rice and you are done.

Teriyaki seems to make everything taste better. This teriyaki burger recipe is so simple the Fat Guy can do it. Take about a pound and half of ground beef and mix in salt and pepper. Heat the grill – wait for it to get pretty hot. Now drop you 1/2″ thick hamburger patties on the grill. Less than 5 minutes on each side and you should be good. You don’t want to flip them too many times and you don’t want to push down on the burgers either. Baste the burgers with the teriyaki sauce towards the end of your cooking. Choose your fish – grouper, snapper even salmon. Your marinade is made with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, onion, cumin, nutmeg, cilantro, white wine and vinegar – or you can just buy some mojo sauce.  Marinate your fish for 2-4 hours then toss on a hot grill. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how to cook vegetables on the grill. These recipes are a perfect way to add some healthy eating to your meals. For corn on the cob – leave the corn in the husk brush with olive oil then wrap in tin foil. Grill for about 20 minutes on each side. Another great veggie that tastes good grilled is eggplant. Slice the eggplant then season each side and brush with a little oil the grill for around 12 minutes.
