Eating breakfast is a common habit that lots of people who lose weight practice. But how much breakfast should you be eating if you want to lose weight is the question. If you eat too big of a breakfast you won’t lose weight and if you eat no breakfast it is hard to lose weight. A good breakfast should be around 300 calories. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how drinking water before meals can help you lose more weight. A recent study seemed to show that if you drink a couple of glasses before a meal you’ll eat less and lose weight. this may be because you’re full from drinking the water. It also might be because people are more dehydrated than they think they are and they might confuse the signal to eat with the signal to drink.  So drink early and drink often – you might drop a couple of pounds – FYI this study seems to work best for older folks. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy opened with Steve Bordley from Trek Desk. This seems to be for a couple of reasons – 1-when you’re sleeping you’re not eating 2-some hormones are activated when you’re not sleeping enough that increase your appetite and decrease your body’s ability to feel full when you do eat. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share tips on how some former fat people lost weight and kept it off. It seems they eat breakfast – in fact breakfast is their biggest meal of the day. A guest once told us to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. Next, they exercised daily – they accumulated about 60 minutes of physical activity daily. So try and shoot for about 10,000 steps a day. They limited time in front of the TV. They also created some sort of support system or routine that helped them overcome setbacks.
