Jodi Towns, Founder and Marketing Mixologist for Towns Consulting LLC. My business background is a bit of a puzzle, with all points back to “I love people!” I’ve been called by many friends and colleagues a “connector” and one of my favorite quotes that reads something like this, “A room full of strangers are just friends I haven’t yet met.” Professionally, I’ve worked mostly in the financial and healthcare industry, held positions like Director of Marketing, Training & Development Director, and CEO of a staffing/recruiting firm.

Towns Consulting LLC offers go-to market strategies mostly in the healthcare space. I teach and coach physicians and their staff on how to organically market and promote their medical practices to draw in their perfect patient. Jodi offers consulting services to help businesses (mostly physicians and other medical practitioners, including cosmetic and aesthetic service providers) create marketing strategies to launch or re-launch their business products or services to the world. Jodi has spent the past 7 plus years in healthcare, specifically Concierge Medicine (membership based medicine) aesthetics and nutrition as a Marketing Director and knows what it takes to make a medical practice stand out from the rest, attract your ideal patient, build physician referral partnerships and create a practice you can be proud of!

Founded in 2017, Jodi Towns has organized Networking for Healthcare Mix and Mingle events bi-monthly growing her group to 200 plus members. This group is comprised of physicians, practitioners, medical marketers/promoters and is an opportunity to build connections and relationships to support others in the medical community. She is the organizer and event coordinator for HealthNow Expo coming to Scottsdale, March 2018.

Jodi is called on to speak at events, webinars, and conferences to share advice and educate on various topics around business, healthcare marketing and networking.

Jodi has consulted for a broad spectrum of clients including:

  • Recovia
  • Health and Wellness Care, Geralyn Jones FNP
  • King Integrative Primary Care

WHY BEST OF HEALTH?

I am a Physician Assistant who has been caring for patients for over 20 years and Family Practice (cradle to grave) is my specialty.

Following the footsteps of three generations of family practice physicians (my father, grandfather and great grandfather) this was a natural and genetic calling that I do not regret.

Given this, I have a unique perspective and it’s time to share that perspective through Ask the PA. As a health care provider, teacher, business owner, patient, and advocate for my family and friends throughout the years, it has been painfully apparent there are disconnects within the current state of health care in the US and throughout the world. It can be confusing and frankly very scary.

It is my goal though this series, Best of Health, to bring people together that are passionate about their roles in the business of health care… and yes, whether or not you want to hear that it’s a business, it is — and that’s the fact. I will introduce to you great, dedicated practitioners and people with a passion for getting the word out about their personal journeys and causes. I will provide information about navigating through a confusing system, asking the right questions and share ways for saving money and time along the way.

It’s time to create change by partnering, empowering, and focusing on the patient, their families and their providers of care. It’s time for you to take the driver’s seat rather than leave your health care solely in the hands of entities such as insurance companies and the pharmaceutical industry.

Stay tuned. Here’s to your Best of Health.

Originally from Montana, Rachelle DuBose Caruthers initially received a degree in Marketing from University of Utah in Salt Lake City.  She moved to Texas in 2006 to be close to family, and to pursue a career in Social Services.  She is currently working on her Masters in Social Work at UT Arlington.  Rachelle is the Program Coordinator for Texas Health Dallas’ Movement Disorders Education and Resource Center.  One of her current priorities is a Parkinsons Support Group that will be launched on August 19, at 7PM.  The meeting will be held in the Patio Café of Clement, Caruthers compressedthe hospital’s Jackson Building.  Register for this event at dallasmovementdisorders@texashealth.org.  In her spare time, Rachelle is learning to speak Danish!  Rachelle can be contacted at the Resource Center at 214-345-4224.

Marianna Clement is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana.  She came to Texas in 1998 to attend Baylor University, from which she has been awarded both a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, and a Masters in Community Health Education.  Marianna was introduced to Texas Health System during a 2001 internship while she was still attending the Baylor undergraduate program.  She loved her work there, and two years ago she accepted a position as a Fitness Specialist and Aerobics Program Manager.  As part of this role, Marianna oversees the MS and Parkinsons Aquatics and Tai Chi programs.  She loves the direct interaction with the people in the program!  Marianna can be reached at 214-345-4512, or via email at mariannaClement@texashealth.org.  Visit the Texas Health website at www.texashealth.org.

Bustos, Raquel compressedAn Atlanta native, Raquel Bustos started her career in administration and corporate meeting planning.  Though she was good at it, this was clearly not her life’s work.  As she looked to do something that had a more significant impact on people, she landed a job as an Activities Director at a local assisted living.  She discovered that she loved to sing, and to engage her residents in singing.  This led her to begin doing this as a full time vocation.  Today she performs in more than 75 senior centers, assisted and independent living facilities.  While she loves to perform, even more, she loves to take her audience on a trip down memory lane, getting the audience to perform with her.  Raquel can be reached at (404) 444-6335, or via email at raquelbustos@bellsouth.net.

Brinson, Bob compressedBob Brinson did what many young college grads do:  He went to college, took a job in Corporate America, went back to school for his MBA in finance and started climbing the corporate ladder.  Approaching 10 years with his company, Bob had a decision to make:  Commit to a lifetime career with the company, or do something else that he was more passionate about.  At his wife’s prompting, Bob left his corporate career to become a personal chef, starting a company called Gourmet Innovations.  A little over two years ago, a business acquaintance noted that the elderly were often not eating nutritious foods on a regular basis.  As he did his research, Bob discovered that those who were not eligible for Meals on Wheels were often not eating regularly, and there was a real market for a nutritious meal delivery service to the home.  His company provides seven unique and healthy meals each week.  He loves the personal touch, and enjoys the relationships he has built as he has served his clients.  Chef Bob can be reached at (404) 797-7323, or via email at chefbob@gourmetinnovationsinc.com.  Visit his website at www.gourmetinnovationsinc.com.
