Chris Tarver and Tom Sheldon

Chris Tarver/Camp Amplify

Chris and Lisa Tarver, the founders of Camp Amplify, have been married since 1985 and have two children and four grandchildren. Lisa grew up attending summer camps and at 16 began working in summer camps. Chris has worked in youth ministries such as Young Life and FCA in high school and college. God had always given them a heart for helping others and for young people.

In 2015, the management team at Camp Grace (who continue to mentor Camp Amplify today) showed them a camp model they were using that had worked for 11 years. A year later on a Sunday morning, God spoke to Chris in a loud voice, “I have children who are depending on you”, and Camp Amplify was born.

Since then Chris and Lisa have been “on mission” for Camp Amplify, speaking, sharing, and raising support as missionaries while building campers, counselors, and partners. After years of planning, Camp Amplify’s first camp was in 2018 with 20 campers. In 2022, 64 campers attended.

Kailey Pirkle/Summit Ace Hardware of Commerce

Ace Hardware is your local hardware store and they are a part of your community. Ace Hardware has over 5,000 stores around the world with the majority of those stores independently owned and operated by local entrepreneurs. These hard working men and women are part of the fabric of your community. They are small business owners who are local and loyal… just like it ought to be. While others have become large and impersonal, Ace Hardware has remained small and very personal. That’s why they say a visit to Ace is like a visit to your neighbor.

Ace stores come in all sizes and shapes based on the needs of each individual neighborhood. They have small, urban stores, large rural stores and everything in between. Ace stores offer a wide variety of paint, lawn and garden, tools, local niche services and virtually anything you’ll ever need to fix, repair and maintain your home. And of course, Ace is most certainly the place with the “Helpful Hardware Folks”.
