Randy Redner/Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia

At the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, everything they do centers around one purpose – improving our world through the power of philanthropy. On a fundamental level, they do that through managing funds held in trust, donated by individuals, organizations and businesses. Most funds are donor-advised funds, similar to savings accounts. These funds are pooled for investment purposes and their income is used to make grants for a wide variety of charitable purposes. But their goals expand far beyond managing funds. They desire to strengthen the communities they serve in Gwinnett, Northeast Georgia and beyond by providing leadership, addressing community needs and assisting individuals and organizations with their charitable giving.

LIVE REMOTE: “Tee It Up To End Domestic Violence” Golf Tournament

June 14, 2021 by Mike

Partnership Against Domestic Violence hosted it’s 1st Annual “Tee It Up To End Domestic Violence” Golf Tournament on June 11, 2021 at Bear’s Best Atlanta.

Since 1977, PADV has worked passionately and tirelessly to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors. The charity golf outing featured an 18-hole scramble and a beginner’s clinic. This special day allowed the community to take a visible stance against abuse and help end the crime of intimate partner violence. Golfers of every skill level competed for prizes and bragging rights.

Gwinnett Business RadioX dedicated a special Community Spotlight podcast promoting the event a month earlier, and then was on-site at Bear’s Best Atlanta on the day of the tournament broadcasting live remotes during the afternoon to interview organizers, sponsors and golfers. The live broadcasts were proudly presented by Buffington Burns Electric.

Megan Bowman/Angels Among Us Pet Rescue

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity dedicated to saving dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in north Georgia. They operate through a network of volunteers and foster homes in the metro Atlanta area. Their efforts are funded by tax-deductible contributions from compassionate people and organizations who care and want to help make a difference, one pet at a time.

Their mission is two-fold. First, to educate the public on the plight of animals that have found themselves in high kill shelters throughout Georgia and on the responsibilities involved with pet ownership, such as spay/neuter and heart-worm prevention. Second, to save as many animals as they can from high-kill shelters and to see each animal through from the actual rescue to the loving foster home and ultimately to the “forever” home they were meant to have.

Randy Redner/Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia

Randy Redner, Community Foundation of NE GAFor more than three decades, the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia has worked in partnership with donors to donate close to $60 million to the charitable causes that matter most to the community.

Rather than giving haphazardly to every donation request, they help people learn where the real needs are and which non-profits are directly addressing those needs. Instead of giving in a rush at year-end for tax purposes, they offer tools that allow you to invest your resources now and give more purposefully when you’re ready. And if you want to leave a legacy that reaches far beyond your lifetime, they can help with that, too.

They make giving easy, with a powerful return on investment for the community. In short, they connect people who care with causes that matter.

Lynn Robinette/Wishes 4 Me Foundation (and Show Host)

Lynn Robinette

The Wishes 4 Me Foundation is a Georgia non-profit organization which provides a group style home for disabled adults. They currently have five homes in Lawrenceville, GA. Each home provides accessibility based on the needs of the residents which exceeds ADA code. The homes also include a positive family environment.

Lynn Robinette, a single mother and the founder of the organization, was inspired by her two disabled children when she was not successful in finding solutions for independent living for her precious loved ones.
