On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy opened the show with Celebrity Chef and author Rocco DiSpirito. Rocco
had a lot to say about eating and health. He says that when he was growing up the dinner table was an important place for the family to bond. He said his family rarely are desserts or went out to eat at restaurants. He recommends that your family eat dinner together. He said that if you go out to a restaurant then enjoy the great food that the chef makes but just don’t eat a lot of it. He said some simple ways to get your kids to eat vegetables are: hide them in pizza and sauces; cook them properly and most importantly get them to get used to eating them when they are young. His go to ingredient is chicken stock – which he always has on hand to make soups and other healthy meals. He even had some dating tips for men – he said women love when a guy can cook a meal for their date. It is a very meaningful gesture that shows that you can take care of and nurture someone else. Rocco, shared some great cooking tips and recipes from his new book Now Eat This! Where he transforms a bunch of your favorite comfort foods into healthier, low calorie but still delicious meals. That book is of course a number one bestselling cookbook and you can find it at bookstores everywhere or online at Amazon. Rocco is also training for triathlons and had some tips about that as well.
