During this informative session, Dr. Darvin Hege, Psychologist, with Sean Vojtask, Executive Vice President of Operations and Deborah Frazier, HealthCare Executive, both with BlueWave Computing, discuss the importance of Healthcare IT… all brought to you by HealthGate.

Each day amazing new technology tools are being released that can help practices increase revenue, improve proficiencies, reduce costs and improve patient outcomes. For this reason, the dependency on healthcare technology is rapidly changing. With this comes new software tools, mobile devices, telemedicine, connection into HIE’s, new HIPAA/HITECH/OMBNIBUS rules, and reformed payment models – each with a dependency on each other. The foundation to make all of this data secure, and provide reliable access, rests on the network infrastructure itself.

Darvin Hege, M.D., P.C./Psychologist

A trusted psychiatrist in Atlanta, Georgia, and certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Darvin Hege is a Emory Hospital residency trained psychiatrist. Dr. Hege maintains over 90 hours of AMA certified education each year to stay informed of advances in psychiatry and addiction, to ensure that his patients receive the best possible care. During his career, he has worked with thousands of patients.

Sean Vojtask, Executive Vice President of Operations/BlueWave Computing

Bringing more than 25 years of Information Technology Experience to BlueWave Computing, Sean Vojtask is responsible for all Service Delivery Operations for one of the fastest growing Managed Service Providers in the country. Prior to joining BlueWave in 2011, Mr. Vojtasko held various senior executive positions with Siemens and was responsible for the Information Technology needs for several multinational companies.

Deborah Frazier, HealthCare Executive/BlueWave Computing

Serving as the healthcare expert on the leadership team of BlueWave Computing, Deborah Frazier is responsible for the strategic direction, marketing, and sales of the healthcare division. Ms. Frazier has provided thought leadership in working with department leaders to package new products and services specifically for the healthcare industry. Most notably she is responsible for the creation of the BlueWave HIPAA Risk Assessment program and the resulting establishment of HIPAA products and services. As the most seasoned sales veteran at BlueWave Computing, she has more than 11 years of experience in consulting healthcare practices on their IT needs.

Write Choice Services has sponsored Write Here, Write Now since its first broadcast in April, 2011.  Dr. Tim Morrison, the host of Write Here, Write Now, is also the president of Write Choice Services. This show provides listeners with an opportunity to hear from and learn about the independent contractors affiliated with Write Choice Services. Vanessa Lowry, permanent guest host of Write Here, Write Now,  interviews  Betsy Rhame-Minor, Jamie Bailey and Emily Lees. Discover how each of these individuals found their way to being an independent contractor with Write Choice Services; what their particular area of interest is in writing; the type of client project they enjoy working on. Oh, and listeners will most likely learn what these three women hold in common professionally that Dr. Tim doesn’t even come close to being able to claim.  And, if given the chance, Dr. Tim will probably counter with what he sees as his “school of hard knocks” equivalent.

Our two guests today were Yvonne Riner with Uber Trade LLC, who explains the advantages of using barter in your business, including using it to get new clients. And, Todd Burkhalter, a Financial Planner and Partner at Ashworth & Sullivan Wealth Management Group, who discusses how financial planning can help individuals and families meet their goals for wealth creation, preservation and create a legacy.

Yvonne Riner is the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Uber Trade LLC, an online barter exchange based in Alpharetta.  With over 500 members and 25 non-profit members, Yvonne and her husband Preston have plans to rapidly expand their concept nationwide.

Business owners are consistently challenged to do more with less and to seek ‘multiple’ and ‘creative ways’ to promote their business. The times of relying on one medium as your revenue source no long exist.  Find out how business owners are introducing ‘bartering’ as a new marketing channel and means to more to their bottom line when you listen to Yvonne discuss Uber Trade and how you can use it too.

If you are a non-profit, you’ll certainly want to tune in and learn how non-profits are using barter as a way to raise money and gain support for their causes.

Yvonne says she is a transplant from Florida, and a GA Bulldog alum where she earned her Executive MBA. She serves as a board member and an ambassador for the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, volunteers with the Alpharetta Business Association, is an ambassador for the UGA MBA Alumni,  and as marketing co-chair for the Hospitality Industry Ministry. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Riner Associates, which provides marketing and business services for local non-profits.

You can contact Yvonne at ypriner@comcast.net or 770-329-3276. Their website is www.UberTrade.com.

Todd Burkhalter, partner in Ashworth & Sullivan Wealth Management Group, is a standout among wealth managers having been named five times as an Atlanta Magazine Five Star Wealth Manager for Best in Client Satisfaction in 2008 through 2011 and now again in 2012. Five Star Best In Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers are selected as a result of a rigorous research process. The resulting list represents no more than 4% of the wealth managers within a specific market area. Also, in 2010 named as a Top Wealth Manager in the Southeast by Newsweek Magazine. In 2011 and 2012, was recognized by The National Association Of Insurance and Financial Advisors as a member of The Top 40 Advisors Under 40 in Atlanta. These recognitions and awards are indicative of the passion he has for helping others achieve more reflect the skill, depth of expertise and competence of the team backing up Todd in serving his clients.

Todd says he’s been privileged to assist families, business owners, and professionals in realizing their financial dreams. Through a commitment to excellence, he has been fortunate to build a solid client base throughout the United States, which continually expands through referrals from satisfied clients.

Saying his company is very focused on serving its current customers best by understanding their needs, goals and situation in depth, Todd emphasizes their dedication to in-depth personal service to clients is a defining difference between his company and so many other. That, and their philosophy of costing a client a net of zero through sage investing, wise management of assets and careful planning gives you yet another reason to contact Todd.

In this edition of Global Leader Radio!™, we discuss how to develop into a legendary leader by staying relevant and legitimate – both personally and professionally. Alvin C. Miles interviewed Carl Jefferson as he shared several game-changing leadership strategies that can help us grow from being “legends in our own mind”, to becoming “legends in our own time.”

Here are seven takeaways from our discussion:

  1. “Business is the business of relationships!”
  2. Think differently about change.
  3. Stay current and relevant through development, reading & education.
  4. “Becoming comfortable can produce a false sense of being legendary.”
  5. Consider using the “A-B-C-D rule” when motivating others.
  6. Leaders should be aware of who they are first.

  7. Customize your strategy to ensure you are serving others individually.

Carl provides great insight to help you think more like a global leader of the future. Add his ideas to your leadership toolkit to help increase YOUR influence. Leadership IS a conversation!

Carl Jefferson / Senior Vice-President, Organizational Leadership & Talent Management Solutions, Careers in Transition

Carl C. Jefferson is a Lifetime Member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) and brings over seventeen years of Human Resources and Talent Management accomplishments to his first term as the Association’s Vice Chairman.  Under Carl’s leadership, as a two-term National President of NAAAHR, the Association has doubled its national presence and executed over 200 leadership meetings and conferences on Human Resources, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion and Performance Management.

Mr. Jefferson is a Human Resources Executive and Talent Management Officer whose career assignments have included Chief People Officer with Al Copeland Investments; VP of Human Resources and Organization Development Consulting with Wachovia Corporation and Sr. Director of Human Resources & Talent Management with Denny’s Restaurants. In each of these roles, he served as a senior business partner to executives and community leaders in customizing enterprise-wide employee engagement and people leadership initiatives.

He earned a BA in Psychology from the University Of Baltimore, and two graduate degrees from The Johns Hopkins University — MS in Organization Development & Human Resources Management and an MBA in General Management.  He recently completed his PhD coursework in Organizational Leadership at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.

Carl is passionate about HR, Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Management and believes that organizations who invest in strategic human capital planning, mass career customization and inclusion initiatives outperform businesses that operate the HR function as an administrative cost center.  For Jefferson, iconic business success is achieved through high levels of employee engagement and quantifiable performance management solutions.

He is based in Atlanta, GA and serves on several non-profit boards to support youth in achieving positive career and education outcomes.  He is frequently interviewed and quoted in the national media and is a sought after speaker, lecturer and facilitator on human resources, inclusion, and people leadership themes.  He is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and International Leadership Association.
