BRX Pro Tip: Team Up with a Networker
Stone Payton: [00:00:01] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received from you in terms of running a successful studio, for the studio partner to team up with a networker.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:15] Right. This is at the heart of how this business started for me personally. I don’t like to network. I’m not good at networking. And the first thing I did was identify somebody who was and who enjoyed it. And then, made her a co-host on my house show, Atlanta Business Radio. So, that’s how this began. So, I think it’s important. Ubiquity is important. Having people see Business RadioX all over the place is good for you and your market. So, the more places you can show up and be seen, the better.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:44] So, if you don’t like to go to all the networking meetings, a way to attack that is to partner with somebody who likes to go, make them a co-host or a periodic co-host on your house show, a semi-regular guest host, or whatever you want to call them, and give them the latitude to invite guests, and show them how to leverage it. And they’re going to be happy to go out to the networking meeting, and to come in there, and tell the story for Business RadioX in order to invite guests that are important to them.

When Steve Hart founded Property Management, Inc. (PMI) in 2008, his vision was to create the nation’s largest residential, commercial, and association management franchise network. Much of his career prior to PMI was spent riding the ups and downs of the real estate industry in land development, construction, and sales.
Steve came to understand that no matter what the real estate market is doing, the property management sector of the industry remains stable.
With this in mind, he built the PMI model for a consistent revenue-generating property management business which now helps hundreds of property managers realize their dreams of successful business ownership.

BRX Pro Tip: Success Story: Regional Business Association
Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, for our Success Story series, today, we want to talk about serving a Regional Business Association.
Lee Kantor: [00:00:13] Yeah. We have a client that’s a Regional Business Association that we were doing in-studio work and that’s how we were serving them. And then, the pandemic happened and then they were unable to come in the studio anymore. And in order to kind of provide value with and for them, we, together, came up with the idea of instead of just doing this thought leadership series that we had been doing, but to pivot slightly and use this kind of flexible time that we had now to actually spotlight their members. And this enabled them to really provide a lot of value to their members that were missing out on some of the good stuff of being part of a member organization like them. They were missing out on the face-to-face networking. They were missing out on the kind of ways to collaborate together with other members.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:03] So, by us spotlighting their members, we were able to really provide a lot of value and appreciation where the members kept getting value from this association. And this is something I think a lot of associations miss out on. They don’t realize how important it is for them as a member organization to not just kind of provide networking opportunities. But if they go out of their way and actually support and celebrate the work of their members, and promote the work of their members, and give them a promotional vehicle that allows them to take that content and then share it and kind of vouch for them, it really helps the members and it’ll keep the members sticky so they don’t quit the organization.
Lee Kantor: [00:01:49] So, that’s what we did on behalf of this association. We helped them get the word out that these business people were still in business. They’re still doing good work. And a side effect of doing this work was that we were able to capture so many testimonials out of the mouths of all of their members that it was dozens upon dozens of testimonials, way more than they had historically been able to capture in any other way throughout the year. So, that was a side benefit that really just you can do kind of a value proposition from this is just capturing those testimonials is worth the value of doing the interviews. So, we were able to serve their members, keep them sticky, keep them around, and also get a lot of testimonials that the member organization was able to repurpose and use to attract even more members.

As the new Director of Member Services for the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of such a dynamic organization! This certainly is not your father’s Chamber; however, the principal remains as a modernized version of a 125-year-old organization that has historically supported businesses in our local community.
A little about me, is I am a native Tucsonan that considers myself the girl next door who has a genuine passion for helping my neighbor, being involved for the good of the community, and making the world a better place- especially one business at a time.
The steppingstone of my journey includes being a part of large corporations, smaller communities, and locally owned organizations, most recently, Commerce Bank of Arizona, fundraising for non-profits, such as the Good Scout Awards and the Spina Bifida Association of Southern Arizona. I have been an instrumental part of startups and turning around failing companies to be extraordinary successes. Positions held ranged from entry-level to Vice President due to a robust passion and ability to deliver time and time again and my commitment is to do the same for you.
My background in business and relationship development is the heartbeat of my successes across industries and is what excites me the most about serving you. I truly understand business issues and I can’t wait to hear about yours. I am your connector and I love Tucson!
