Kimberley was born in Michigan, and her family moved here when she was two years old. She has had a love for animals since she was a small child, and has had dogs, cats, horses, birds, and several types of reptiles. Kimberley has been involved in animal welfare in Tucson for 36 years and has worked professionally with animals her entire life. She wanted to start Pima Paws for Life in order to save animals that were being killed for illnesses and problems that were easily treated. She enjoys painting, reading, and crafts when she can find the time.
About the Business

Pima Paws for Life was started 6 years ago, at a time when the dogs and cats at the Pima County shelter were still being killed for easily resolved medical problems, such as upper respiratory infections, mange, and ringworm. Their entire purpose was to pull these animals to safety, treat them, and find them good homes. As improvements were made at the County shelter, Pima Paws for Life expanded its reach to poorly funded outlying shelters, reservations, and the general public. Despite their heavy focus on animals with both easily treatable and serious medical issues, they have maintained a save rate that has never fallen below 98% since opening.
