BRX Pro Tip: Client Turnover Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:02] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor, Stone Payton here with you. Lee, let’s talk a little bit about client turnover. Predicting it, managing it, embracing it, I don’t know what the right verb is, but let’s talk about client turnover.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:17] Sure. Client turnover is a part of business. That’s just the way it is over time. You know, you kind of outgrow each other some of the time. Sometimes, you have clients for many, many years. You want to keep as many as you can, the ones you want, as long as you possibly can. And here are some things you can do to keep clients longer, things we like to do in here. One is to check in with them. You know, don’t just assume everything’s going good because they keep showing up for every episode.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:45] Check in, have a meeting, a debrief, make sure that things are going the way that they’re supposed to go. And then, try to nip some of the frustration in the bud, if you can. Another thing that’s really important to kind of limit turnover is to hold your clients accountable for their guest selection. If they’re bringing in their friends or their relatives or people who aren’t going to do business with them, then you got to hold them accountable and say, “What’s going on here?” You know, when we started, we said these people were on my dream list. Where are they? How come they’re not coming in here? Are you asking them if they’re not coming in or you’re not even asking them?”.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:23] And a lot of times, they’re not even asking them. And if you have to help them, you might have to intervene a little bit and then, get some of those people in there for them. But you have to really make sure that the right people are coming in the room because if the right people aren’t going to come in the room, then our platform is not going to work for them. Another thing you can do to keep a client is just appreciate them, give them recognition.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:46] We talked about this in a previous tip. You know, have a press release written that they’ve just done 20 episodes. Give them an award. Give them a trophy. You know, do something special to let them know that you appreciate them and you care. Put their picture on the wall. Do something that holds them up and celebrates their success. Another thing you can do that I think is so important that everybody should be doing regularly is make connections for your clients.

Lee Kantor: [00:02:12] Connect them with people you’re meeting in the studio. You’re getting to meet a real diverse crowd, share some of that connections back with your sponsors. Get them in front of people they would never get in front of. So, you can’t do that too much in my book. Introducing them to good guests is a great way to appreciate them and to really help them be successful, so they stick with you and you won’t have to deal with client turnover.

Donald Variste, Founder and CEO of DV Productions, entered the world at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He grew up in the culture-filled streets of Little Haiti. At the age of thirteen, a strong desire to model emerged. Pressing forward, Donald made his dream to model a reality. Announcing his presence and sense of style to the city was not a walk in the park. Fortunately, he was given an opportunity through the Jeff Anderson Modeling Agency doing runway, print work and commercials. While modeling was his endeavor,

Donald was and still is an avid believer in pursuing higher education. Education is imperative not only for himself but also for his parents. Because of this, modeling came to a halt after they realized how much time away from school it required. Although modeling was put on the back burner his tenacious spirit drove him to accomplish more than he could ever imagine.

Paul and his friends wanted to create a CBD wellness and beauty products company from the highest quality hemp, so they embarked on a journey around the US, personally meeting with CBD farmers who shared their ideas.

Once the best growers were found, they embarked on a search for a manufacturer who could create premiere CBD products from their non-GMO, pesticide and chemical free CBD. BRX Pro Tip: Documenting Success Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:02] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton, Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, let’s talk a little bit about the discipline of consistently documenting success.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:13] Yeah. This is so, so important, especially when you’re starting out in your studio or starting out with your show. The more that you can document your client’s success, the easier it will be to get your next client. So, be sure you’re always asking for testimonials or you’re always capturing success stories or case studies about how a client is using the platform. Well, don’t keep this stuff a secret. Share it with everyone. A testimonial from one of us is a testimonial that can be used by each of us.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:43] A way to capture testimonials from your guest or your clients are do some sort of a video conference, video contest where that give away some restaurant gift card or something to somebody, to people that are out there telling them success stories or how beneficial it was to be on Business RadioX or how many clients they got from being part of Business RadioX or how they leveraged their interview to get something or funding or whatever they got out of being part of the Business RadioX community. But do not keep this stuff a secret. Please share it with all of us because we all benefit by anybody’s testimonial.

BRX Pro Tip: Don’t be the Low Cost Option Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:02] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton, Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, if I’ve heard you say it once, I’ve heard you say it a thousand times, do not be the low cost option.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:12] Yeah. It’s so important to not be the low cost option. There’s no reason for you to be the low cost option. I don’t care what market you’re in. You shouldn’t be the cheapest game in town. You cannot deliver the level of service that you need to make your clients successful if they are paying too low of a fee. So, you have to charge enough so you can deliver the ROI back to that client, because that’s why they’re going to stay.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:37] They don’t care how much they’re paying you. They really don’t. They just care that that investment is paying off and it’s making them money. People, if it cost $100 or $1,000 or $10,000, as long as it’s returning two or three times that amount, they’ll pay any of those amounts. So, don’t think that you have to charge a little bit and don’t think of yourself as being a small player in your market. Look at the entire network as a whole when you’re going up to a potential client.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:07] The people in this network have achieved, we’ve had billionaires in here, we’ve had millionaires in here, we’ve had people running multi-billion dollar companies. This network has interviewed and have been affiliated with events that have generated millions, billions of dollars. And you are part of that network. You’re a part of this team. You should not be the low cost option. Being the low cost option does not help anybody. You should be charging top dollar for the service you’re providing because that’s what we deliver back to our clients, top dollar.

Scott Adzick, MD, MMM, FACS, FAAP, is Surgeon-in-Chief of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the founder and Director of the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment.

Areas of Expertise: Fetal surgery, Clinical applications of fetal diagnosis and therapy, Endocrine surgery, Neonatal Surgery, Pectus surgery, Surgical treatment of hyperinsulinism, Thoracic Surgery, Thyroid, and parathyroid surgery

Dr. Adzick is the C. Everett Koop Professor of Pediatric Surgery at CHOP and the founder and Director of the Hospital’s Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. He also serves as CHOP’s Surgeon-in-Chief, Director of the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Fetal Surgery, and Professor of Surgery, Obstetrics, and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
A true innovator in the field of fetal medicine since its inception, Dr. Adzick has dedicated his career to the pursuit of groundbreaking prenatal treatment for debilitating birth defects. He has made pioneering contributions to the practice of fetal surgery, and today continues to explore cutting edge surgical treatment options for life-threatening fetal anatomic malformations such as urethral obstruction, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung, and sacrococcygeal teratoma.

Dr. Adzick was the principal investigator for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) “Management of Myelomeningocele Study” (MOMS) at CHOP. This breakthrough study demonstrated that performing fetal surgery for spina bifida results in significantly improved outcomes versus conventional postnatal repair. The study represents the fruition of decades of research, much of it led by Dr. Adzick and his team and is an example of how a once-radical idea can, through meticulous investigation, be transformed into a viable treatment for patients. Dr. Adzick is the lead author of the study results, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

“For the first time in the history of mankind, we have a new way to offer hope to families who have a diagnosis of spina bifida,” says Dr. Adzick. “It’s very gratifying to take an idea we had 20 years ago, test it thoroughly, apply it cautiously in the clinical setting and, eventually, have the ability to offer a new therapy that can completely change the life of a child.”

Dr. Adzick is also an active pediatric general and thoracic surgeon and performs more than 400 operations a year. Much of his work is devoted to surgery in newborns including repairs for congenital diaphragmatic hernia, abdominal wall defects, lung lesions and other complex conditions affecting neonates.
In addition, Dr. Adzick has a special interest and expertise in surgery for Hyperinsulinism (HI) and pediatric thyroid disorders. Working closely with CHOP’s Congenital Hyperinsulinism Center, he has been instrumental in using 18 F-DOPA PET scanning technology to identify focal HI lesions in the pancreas, offering the chance of a complete surgical cure by performing partial pancreatectomy for affected patients.

Dr. Adzick is also one of the nation’s most experienced surgeons in pediatric surgery to treat thyroid cancer and Graves disease, working in collaboration with CHOP’s Pediatric Thyroid Center.
Dr. Adzick earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, completed his surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and his pediatric surgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. He holds a Masters of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Adzick was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California San Francisco, where he was an attending surgeon from 1988 until 1995, when he was recruited to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as Surgeon-in-Chief.

Dr. Adzick has had NIH grant support for more than 30 years and has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed research papers. He was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Science in 1998. He is recognized worldwide for his contributions to the field of pediatric surgery, and for his creative leadership at CHOP to enhance the surgical care of children.
In spring 2015, Dr. Adzick appeared in a three-part documentary series airing on PBS called TWICE BORN: Stories from the Special Delivery Unit. The Emmy® Award-winning documentary offered a look inside the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and its unique Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit.
