The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is a unique partnership among the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center Foundation, the University of Georgia, and the Gwinnett County Board of Education. The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center offers a unique mix of recreational, educational and rental opportunities. Visitors can enjoy an exciting experience in the misty, multi-sensory Blue Planet Theater and wet fun in the Discover H2O room. Various traveling exhibitions connected to the Center’s mission also provide informative and fun ways to explore both science and heritage programming. In addition, recreation opportunities are available such as bike riding, hiking and swinging through the trees on the Treetop Quest adventure course.
As Director of Programming for the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center Foundation, Jason West holds a master’s degree in education with a concentration in social studies. He has experience as both a classroom teacher and school administrator. In addition, he has served in marketing and human resource roles in the corporate world. West has also held public office as a school board trustee.
