BRX Pro Tip: Be a Resource
Stone Payton : And we’re back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, this is so important in our world and our business, but I think it probably applies to so many. The attention that we and our partners apply toward really becoming a resource.
Lee Kantor: Yeah. I think this is an area where, especially if you’re in a service business and especially if you’re trying to be a trusted advisor, you have to become a resource for not only valuable information, obviously, you should become an expert in whatever it is you’re doing or selling, but you also have to be a valuable resource when it comes to creating meaningful connections to your clients. Like, that is an important part.
Lee Kantor: And this is what elevates the good from the great you. You have to become indispensable. And a way to become indispensable is to not only deliver valuable information to your clients but deliver meaningful connections to your clients. Clients don’t leave you if you’re solving these two critical problems at once. If you’re making them smarter and you’re introducing them to people who matter to them, you will become indispensable.
Lee Kantor: Most professionals just focus on the expertise part. They’re going to deliver great service. They’re going to be smart. They’re going to have all the answers to all your questions. That’s great. There’s lots of people that can do that. But the ones that really are special are the ones that not only do that, but they’re also connecting their clients to each other, to their next client.
Lee Kantor: If you’re able to deliver clients to your clients, they’re never going to leave you. It doesn’t matter. They’re never going to even shop you. If you have a community that delivers clients to clients, the information is great. That’s useful. But delivering clients to clients is a game changer. So, if you can do that, you will become indispensable.
Lee Kantor: At Business RadioX, we do both. Our shows provide actionable insights, but we also are connecting our clients with other business leaders, with other potential partners, and with other people who understand their world.
Lee Kantor: It’s so important to be a connector and to deliver on that, not just talk about it, not just do it once in a blue moon, but spend as much time and energy helping your network grow and helping people connect to one another as you do to building your knowledge base. And then, you will become indispensable to your clients, to your community. It’s a game changer.
Lee Kantor: So, here’s the challenge. Identify one way you can add more valuable information to your client relationships. Okay, that’s probably easy for you. You’re probably reading all kinds of stuff and learning all kinds of stuff. Spend as much time this week helping your clients with a meaningful introduction. Don’t just be the person who delivers the service. Be the person who opens doors and shares wisdom. Then you will be indispensable.
