BRX Pro Tip: Become Easier to Recommend
Stone Payton: And we’re back with Business RadioX Pro Tips, Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, this kind of came to light for me in a conversation a couple of weeks ago, but it got me to thinking, because the lady, really, she loved our work, she wanted to let other people know about it. And I just got to thinking, we need to make it easier for people to recommend us. Yeah?
Lee Kantor: Yeah. And the way to do that is to simplify things. People naturally recommend businesses that are easily explainable, that they can easily explain to somebody else. If the message is too confusing or complicated, even your biggest fans are going to have a hard time describing what you do. So, it’s important to be able to take your kind of mission and purpose and make it a simple, memorable explanation that makes referrals easier to happen. And then, they’ll happen more often because it’ll be easy for someone to say what you do, how you do it, what makes you special and unique.
Lee Kantor: So, clarity is one of the most valuable marketing tools you have. So spend some time, write your business description in one sentence. Get that super tight. Ask other people outside your industry if it makes sense. You know, explain it to me like I’m five is a real thing. The mom test is a real thing.
Lee Kantor: The simpler that it is for someone to understand what you do, the more likely they will refer you to somebody else.
