BRX Pro Tip: Make Your Calendar Match Your Priorities
Stone Payton: And we’re back with Business RadioX Pro Tips, Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, for some time now I have witnessed you using your calendar to help you manage you, and some of that has rubbed off on me, but say more.
Lee Kantor: I think your calendar tells the truth. Your calendar is telling you what’s important. And if you’re saying certain things are important and they’re not showing up in your calendar, then you really have to question how important they really are. So if your calendar is filled with internal meetings, doing email, doing admin work, then don’t be shocked if your sales pipeline dries up.
Lee Kantor: The activities that grow your business need to be protected on your calendar, not schedule whenever everything else is done. So if you think relationships are important, your calendar better kind of mirror that, or else you’re just lying to yourself. And your calendar is just a clear indicator of the things that are really important to you.
Lee Kantor: So today, look at next week’s calendar and block time for the important things. And if relationship building is important, make sure that that’s blocked and you dedicate time to building relationships with the people that matter most to you. Because if you don’t block the time, that space is going to be filled with something else. And I guarantee you that something else isn’t going to be the thing that moves the needle in your business.
