BRX Pro Tip: Consistency Builds Credibility
Stone Payton: And we’re back with Business RadioX Pro Tips, Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, I’ve learned over the years, and particularly in hanging out with you, that there are a lot of ways to establish and maintain credibility. And, you know, we have the luxury of having access to this methodology and the platform, and that certainly makes it a lot easier than what I had available to me early in my career. But if you had to pick one thing, like what’s the master key for building credibility in your opinion?
Lee Kantor: Yeah, I think it’s just showing up, consistency. If you are just showing up time after time, relentlessly showing up and being where people are, credibility comes along for the ride when you do that. I think people overestimate what one great email, or one great presentation, or one great podcast, or one great marketing campaign is going to accomplish. Trust is built through consistency. Showing up week after week after week, and being reliable and useful, that is going to build way more credibility than having a one time brilliant idea. People are going to forget that, but they’re not going to forget you if you’re always there and being useful and serving your community.
Lee Kantor: So, I think that people begin to assume you’ll continue delivering value if you’ve demonstrated that you are always there providing value. So think about one activity that helps your audience, and commit to doing it consistently over and over, week after week for the next quarter and see what happens. Consistency builds credibility, if you can actually do it.
