BRX Pro Tip: Build a List of Future Partners
Stone Payton: Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips, Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, in my conversations with people in like a pre-interview call, and the interviews I’m doing, and the strategy calls that we often have with folks who have been on air with us, I am consistently identifying people that I think it might make sense for us to partner with. But talk to me about your thoughts, your strategy, your operating discipline for kind of maintaining a pipeline of partners that we ought to be trying to have that type of conversation with at some point.
Lee Kantor: Right. So, partners are really the engine that grows most businesses. And you’re not going to get business from, you know, running Facebook ads. That’s just not a good strategy for most coaches or most professional service providers. You’re going to get your growth from people who know people.
Lee Kantor: So, think about the organizations around you, the people and the businesses around you that you would like to do business with. They may not know about you yet. They may not trust you yet. But start a list where you’re like, okay, these are the companies that I feel like I can make an impact with and that have similar values. And then, develop a strategy over time that gets you in front of these people so that you can build the trust that will allow these partnerships to flourish. But you have to have a running list of these future collaborators someday, otherwise they’re going to just come and go. You’re not going to be aiming towards that goal. So, start the list first. Make an effort to spend some time every quarter identifying these future partners and then come up with a strategy.
Lee Kantor: In Business RadioX, we’re blessed with the ability to meet anybody we want to meet through our platform. But come up with a strategy that you can go and start getting to know them. They can start getting to know you. You can grow the relationship in a way and nurture it over time, so that when they need a service that you have, that you’re there and you’re the first people that they think of.
Lee Kantor: So today, start kind of building that list, start building that future partner list, and start connecting with folks who are part of those organizations so you can be there when they need you down the road.
