BRX Pro Tip: Your Team Multiplies Your Impact
Stone Payton: And we’re back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, I really do believe this to be true, but I’d like to talk a little bit about how and why this idea that your team really does multiply your impact.
Lee Kantor: Well, it should, and if you do it right, it will. The moment you start hiring is the moment your business really has a chance to scale.
Lee Kantor: A lot of professional service providers resist this because they don’t want to kind of lose control, or they think that they’re the only people that can do certain things, and they’re afraid of what the cost of a mistake is, especially in an early stage. But the reality is, the cost of you doing everything yourself is way higher than the cost of hiring somebody to help you.
Lee Kantor: When you’re doing everything yourself, you’re stuck in trading time for money forever, and there’s really no escape from that unless you start delegating and you start automating. You can’t grow; you’re going to get burned out. You’re going to get frustrated. You’re going to get stuck.
Lee Kantor: So, take baby steps, start small. What’s the smallest task that’s the least amount of risk that somebody else can be doing for you? And then find somebody else to do that. It might be an admin. It might be automation. It might be a company that has lots of virtual assistants, and the work might be admin work. It might be scheduling, bookkeeping, whatever it is. Pay someone else to do it so you can take this off your to-do list.
Lee Kantor: And you should be focusing on the high-value client work, building and nurturing relationships. You should be kind of thinking about the strategy. And every person you hire is going to free up your time to do more of what actually makes you money.
Lee Kantor: So, your action step, if you are bold enough to take it, is just pick one role you can hire somebody for the next 90 days. What would that free up for you?
