Timothy Sheehan/BNY Mellon
Tim Sheehan is a Vice President and Senior Wealth Director in the Atlanta office of BNY Mellon Wealth Management. He is responsible for advising affluent families and institutions with their portfolios, trusts, estates, foundations, endowments and retirement plans, making him a trusted advisor to wealthy families and institutions throughout the Southeast. Tim, in conjunction with BNY Mellon’s Portfolio Team and Wealth Strategist, works closely with his client’s tax and legal advisors on all matters ranging from tax and estate planning, concentrated stock positions, sale of privately held businesses, and family governance.
Tim is passionate about helping business owners and corporate executives navigate their wealth managements options and educate them as they move through the cycles of their career. His clients respect the fact that while he is helping them grow and protect their wealth, Tim is also focused on positioning business owners for eventual liquidity events and helping corporate executives understand their full range of benefits and diversification strategies. In post transaction and/or retirement, Tim develops strategies to protect and secure his clients’ wealth while simplifying their lives as they transition from “Owner” to “Investor”.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Tim served as Business Manager for Shell Energy Services where he grew the Georgia operation to $400m in revenue and 26% market share. Internationally, Tim has worked throughout Southeast Asia where he led the retail redevelopment for Caltex’s operations in Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
Karen Havey/BNY Mellon
Karen Havey is a Family Wealth Strategist for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Karen joined the firm in 2016 bringing ten years of experience as a practicing tax attorney. In this role, she works to develop innovative strategies in wealth transfer analytics and ownership structures to maximize our clients’ wealth after taxes and across generations.
Karen has over ten years of experience providing comprehensive wealth planning advice to individuals and families. Most recently, she was a partner at a national tax law firm where she advised high net worth clients and families in regard to wealth and estate planning with emphasis on the estate, gift and income tax laws. She spent substantial time assisting fiduciaries with post mortem planning and tax filings. Her practice was also heavily focused on advising entrepreneurs in regard to asset protection and business succession planning through the use of trusts. In addition, Karen frequently advised clients on the implementation, structuring and repair of captive insurance companies.
